Watch “Madame Web,” in which Dakota Johnson debuted Cassandra Webb in the upcoming “Spider-Man” spin-off

The next Sony-Marvel picture, “Madame Web,” features Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney as they spin their way through the Spider-Verse. Johnson joined the ‘Entertainment Tonight’ chat show and gave an explanation of Cassie’s past. Cassie is a paramedic whose life is flipped upside down following a fatal accident.

Johnson talked candidly about Cassandra “Cassie” Webb, the titular clairvoyant, whom she called a genuinely dynamic figure.

The actress acknowledged that Cassie believes she is going insane when she exhibits her clairvoyance.

Johnson continued, elaborating, saying that Cassie’s skills evolved when she encountered three young women, portrayed by actors Sydney Sweeney from “Euphoria,” Isabela Merced from “Instant Family,” and Celeste O’Connor, star of “Selah and the Spades.”

Under Cassie’s careful supervision, the three young women reportedly grow into independent heroes. O’Connor portrays Mattie Franklin, and Sweeney plays Julia Carpenter, a Spider-Woman incarnation. Merced plays Anya Corazon, a Spider-Woman who transforms into Araña.

‘Madame Web’ stars a number of well-known actors in addition to the superpowered girl, such as Adam Scott (Party Down), Emma Roberts (American Horror Story), Mike Epps (The Hangover), and Zosia Mamet (The Flight Attendant).

In the unverse, ‘Madame Web’ centers on the entwined destinies of Cassandra and three other women, who must pool their abilities to defeat a shared foe.
