According to Luminate, Taylor Swift‘s The Tortured Poets Department gained 175,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending May 30 (a 54%) decrease. As a result, the album spends a sixth consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated June 8).
Since Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time topped the charts for its first twelve weeks a year ago (dated March 18–June 3, 2023), Tortured Poets is the first album to spend its first six weeks at No. 1. Tortured Poets and Folklore share the record for the most weeks at No. 1 since their debut, having spent six weeks each among Swift’s collection of No. 1 hits.

With 175,000 units gained in the sixth week, Tortured Poets becomes the album with the biggest sixth-week earnings since Adele’s 25 earned 363,000 units in the same period last year (chart dated January 16, 2016).
Swift extends her record among soloists by spending her 75th career week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. (With 67, Elvis Presley leads the field for solos.) That sum includes her 14 commanders. (She and Jay-Z share the record for the most No. 1s among solo artists.)
RM’s Right Place, Wrong Person debuts at No. 5 with his biggest debut week (in both units and sales), while Twenty One Pilots’ Clancy debuts at No. 3 with the biggest week for any rock album in 2024 (in either equivalent album units or traditional album sales). Both albums are included in the new Billboard 200’s top 10.
The most popular albums of the week in the United States are listed on the Billboard 200 chart, which is compiled by Luminate and based on multi-metric consumption expressed in equivalent album units. Track equivalent albums (TEA), album sales, and streaming equivalent albums (SEA) are all included in units.

Of The Tortured Poets Department’s 175,000 units for the sixth week, SEA units make up 133,000 (down 20%) of the total (173.65 million official on-demand streams of the deluxe edition’s 31 songs); album sales make up 41,000 (down 81%) and TEA units make up 1,000 (down 30%). The album is currently ranked No. 1 on Top Streaming Albums.
In its second week on the chart, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft is a non-mover at No. 2, collecting 145,000 equivalent album units (a 57% decrease). Eilish achieved her highest weekly career total (339,000) with the set one week prior, and this week is the biggest second week for any of her albums.
Clancy, the latest studio album by Twenty One Pilots, debuted at No. 3 with 143,000 equivalent album units gained. A small portion of that amount is made up of TEA units (a tiny amount), SEA units (a total of 29,000, or 38.64 million official on-demand streams of the set’s songs), and album sales (113,000, making it the best-selling album of the week and No. 1 on Top Album Sales). In terms of album sales and units, Clancy had the greatest week of any rock album in 2024. (Albums classified as rock are those that are either eligible for the Billboard Top Rock Albums list or have already charted there.)
Clancy is Twenty One Pilots’ fourth top-10 charting set. The band has already made trips to the area with Blurryface (No. 1, 2016), Trench (No. 2, 2018), and Scaled and Icy (No. 3 in 2021).
The lead track off the new album, “Overcompensate,” peaked at No. 2 on the Alternative Airplay chart in May, becoming the performer’s 16th top-10 charting hit overall. In March, the song peaked at No. 64 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is a multi-metric all-genre chart. The new album, which is the last installment in the band’s conceptual trilogy that started with Blurryface, was revealed on February 29.
Clancy’s availability in 11 vinyl variations, autographed and unsigned zine/CD journal editions and digipak CDs, deluxe CD boxed sets with associated merchandise, and a deluxe digital album with four bonus live tracks all helped to boost the album’s first-week sales.

One Thing at a Time, the number-one album by Morgan Wallen, ranks 3–4 on the Billboard 200 with 73,000 equivalent album units achieved (a 3% decrease).
Right Place, Wrong Person, RM’s second solo top-10 charting album, opens at No. 5 with 54,000 equivalent album units. Of that total, 43,000 come from album sales, 7,500 come from SEA units (which translates to 10.16 million on-demand plays of the songs in the collection), and 3,500 come via TEA units. The album gives the member of BTS both his largest opening week in terms of traditional album sales and units, as well as his best debut position on the Billboard 200.
The single “Come Back to Me” preceded Right Place, Wrong Person and peaked at number thirty on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excluding U.S. charts. The album’s availability in 13 distinct CD versions, each containing branded paper goods and other collectibles, helped to boost its first-week sales.

The chart-topping song We Don’t Trust You by Future and Metro Boomin falls 5-7 (43,000; down 11%), Gunna’s One of Wun falls 4-8 (42,000; down 25%), Noah Kahan’s Stick Season is pushed down 7-9 despite a gain of 4% (to 40,000), and Zach Bryan’s self-titled former No. 1 falls 8-10 (37,000; down 2%). Wallen’s previous leader Dangerous: The Double Album is stationary at No. 6 with 45,000 equivalent album units earned (down less than 1%).
