Her body was very weak. Michelle’s mother remembers “They’d give her a sedation that was supposed to put her out for 20 minutes and she’d be asleep for four days. Her body couldn’t take it.”

Thomas was known to be a vegetarian since her birth. Her mother disclosed that she never smoked or drank alcohol in her life. But in August 1997, doctors identified Michelle as suffering from rare cancer, An intra-abdominal desmoplastic small round cell tumor. Owing to this disease, she underwent two surgeries first to remove a small tumor and second to blow out the growth of cancer in her body.
Thereafter, she moved to New Jersey to celebrate Thanksgiving with her family, and at the age of 30, she died in New York City.
Her close ones organized a Muslim funeral for her as she wished upon her death and then she was enclosed in the casket in New Jersey. Now, the actress is survived by her mother and father and grandfather, and brother.
