Michael Phelps is an American Olympic swimmer. He has accompanied his infant son to his inaugural Olympic basketball competition.
The 39-year-old Olympic medalist, who has won 28 medals, was observed supporting the women’s basketball team of Team USA with his wife Nicole and their youngest son, Nico, who is six months old. Boomer, 8, Beckett, 6, and Maverick, 4, are also the offspring of Michael and Nicole.
The three were captured in a photograph on the margins of the contest between Team USA and Nigeria on Wednesday, August 7. The former emerged victorious over the latter with a final score of 88-74 and is now en route to the semi-finals, where they will face Australia.
Nico was attired in a petite T-shirt with patterned stars, blue shorts, and protective blue headphones, while the Phelps family was resplendent in red, white, and blue.
In the interim, Nicole, 39, had her manicures painted in three distinct colors on alternate nails. She was wearing a vibrant red shirt that bore the word “USA,” while Michael was sporting a blue cap that bore the same name.
The charming photographs depict both parents holding Nico in a standing position as he gazes out at the basketball court. They were situated adjacent to their lifelong acquaintance, Olympic swimmer Allison Schmitt.
Schmitt, 34, exclusively told that she’s “helping out Nicole and Michael with Nico” in Paris, adding, “I’m so happy I get my baby snuggles.”
Schmitt, a 10-time medalist, also posted a photo on her Instagram account featuring Nicole and Nico, as well as Michael, Katie Ledecky, and the women’s basketball team.

Michael posted a series of photos of the game to his Instagram on Wednesday with caption: “Nicole n Nico’s first @usabasketball game!!! Love watching these ladies make history!! Go USA 🇺🇸,” he captioned the post.
His carousel included selfies with the basketball team, photos with Ledecky and Schmitt and a sweet selfie with Nicole and Nico.
Michael posted photos of his family exploring the French capital on Instagram on August 1. Throughout the journey, Nico was depicted in a single photograph wearing a red headdress, large headphones, and miniature overalls.
The father-son duo was depicted in other photographs as beaming in front of the Eiffel Tower, viewing the Games from the stands, and in the hotel room.
