You can find out everything you need to know about the rumoured Daredevil Season 4 right here.
Despite the fact that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has already stated that Charlie Cox will resume his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and that the character will officially become a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is Daredevil Season 4 genuinely going to air?
Daredevil was a Marvel television series that aired for three seasons, with all episodes released on Netflix between 2015 and 2018. As a result of the success of the blockbuster series, a number of spin-off shows set in the same TV universe have emerged, including The Defenders (with Jessica Jones), Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher. Although the series received an overwhelmingly great response and the showrunner proposed a fourth season, the show was cancelled after its third season despite the positive reception.
Despite the fact that the show was discontinued on Netflix four years ago, speculations are circulating that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil in a fourth season to be produced by Marvel Studios.
As it turns out, the series returned to the Top 10 in the Nielsen ratings in December 2021, thanks to renewed interest in the show sparked by the appearance of Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil (played by Charlie Cox), in Spider-Man: Homecoming. On the same day, Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin (played by Vincent D’Onofrio), made an appearance as a significant character in the Hawkeye narrative on Disney+, which was also airing at the time.
Listed here is everything you need to know about the rumoured comeback of Daredevil.
Daredevil Season 4: Cancelled?
Vincent D’Onofrio, who portrays Kingpin in the show, recently talked up about the reasons why Netflix’s Daredevil series was shelved after three seasons of production. The Daredevil actor opened up about the show’s cancellation on the Marvel News Desk podcast, and he also discussed how he and his fellow cast members reacted to the news.
“I don’t think any of us were okay. I think that we were like, ‘Oh okay, we had a hit show and now it’s gone.’ But shortly after that, at same time the #SaveDaredevil groups started to rise, the cast, most of us I believe, but I know Charlie (Cox) and I for sure, and Deborah (Ann Woll), I think we started to learn the reasons why that happened. So we understood what Marvel was doing because Disney Plus coming out.
When you’re in this business a long time like we have all been, it kind of made sense business-wise. What didn’t make sense to us was why we wouldn’t continue that show or the idea of how that worked and how well it worked. Conceptually, I think we were disappointed but I think we all understood what was going on and it sort of was inevitable. In this business you learn to accept things because you know its a business in the end and there’s nothing you can really do about it.”
Will Daredevil Return For Season 4?
It was reported in October 2021 by Knight Edge Media that Marvel Studios is interested in reviving the Netflix series with the same cast, but that their comeback would only be a mild reboot of the original series.
Essentially, this could mean that they would portray new versions of their respective characters, but that they would already be well-established in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, meaning that the events of Netflix’s Daredevil show would take place in an alternate universe, while the MCU versions would essentially be different variants of the same characters.
These characters were said to be returning through Disney+’s Hawkeye spin-off series Echo before getting their own movie or Disney+ TV series, according to the rumours. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is rumoured that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil.
Those theories were confirmed this month, with the Daredevil actors making their official MCU debuts in two of the month’s most anticipated films: Iron Fist and Captain Marvel.
The return of D’Onofrio to the Marvel Cinematic Universe was teased in Hawkeye Season 1’s penultimate episode, with his character expected to play a larger role in the season finale. Meanwhile, Cox made a brief cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, a film that had been widely anticipated by fans.
During an interview with Cinemablend in December 2021, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that Charlie Cox would be playing Daredevil: “If you were to see Daredevil in subsequent stuff, Charlie Cox, absolutely, would be the actor playing Daredevil.” Feige, on the other hand, told the site that there are no specific Daredevil projects that have been officially confirmed.
As previously said, there is rising suspicion that both characters would play key roles in Marvel’s Echo, which appears to be fairly plausible given the ways in which the characters have appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since then. Bringing Daredevil back as a Disney Plus original would undoubtedly generate a great deal of excitement.
During an interview with HeyUGuys in February 2022, Cox discussed his role with Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it was during that conversation that he told a story about an experience he had in late 2019 with Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige. In fact, Cox claims that the two met on Broadway one night and that Feige didn’t mention Daredevil once during their conversation.
“I did a play in 2019 with Tom Hiddleston and Kevin Feige came to see our play,” Cox said. “And, Y’know, I went and shook hands with him and said hi and he said how much he enjoyed the play. Never mentioned Daredevil or anything like that. So it turns out he’s a very good liar as well.”

Daredevil Season 4 Premiere Date
Because Disney and Marvel Studios haven’t officially confirmed whether the rumoured Daredevil project will be a film or a television series, it’s difficult to predict a release date for the project. As a result, don’t expect any Daredevil projects until at least 2023.
The need for a new Daredevil season is undeniable, and many fans still believe it to be the best Marvel television series, so please hold on for dear life. Marvel Studios and Disney are very certainly still working out their strategy for Daredevil Season 4.
