Blake Lively expressed her desire for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour performance to be extended.
Lively, 36, praised her friend, 34, during an appearance on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show on Wednesday, Aug. 14, to discuss her new film It Ends with Us. She also played a game of “Unpopular Opinion” with presenter Greg James.
Upon receiving a call from a caller who expressed their opinion that Swift’s song “Love Story” should not be included in the Eras Tour setlist, Lively responded, “That’s tough,” before interrogating the caller for the reasons behind their decision.
“You just hate happiness, or joy, or just your ears? You don’t like your ears?” the actress asked.
“I think it’s a really good song, but I just think another song from Fearless should thrive in the spotlight,” the caller responded. “I think it’s on there because it’s so well-known but I think a less-known one should have its time.”
“Honestly I wish the tour, the concert, was just like 47 hours long so that all the songs could be played at all times. So my popular opinion is that all, like yes,” said Lively.
“The answer is which song, the answer is yes. What’s the setlist? Yes. My answer is yes,” she added.
“So all of the songs from beginning to end should be played?” James, 38, asked.
“Yes,” Lively replied.
Swift’s Eras Tour performance spans approximately three and a half hours and incorporates music from seven distinct albums, including 1989, Lover, and her most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department. In each performance, the musical superstar performs between 44 and 46 songs.
In May, Lively and her spouse Ryan Reynolds were observed in the audience at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain, during her close friend’s tour.
In a video and photos shared by a fan page on Instagram, the couple were observed kissing in the throng and taking a selfie as Swift, whom Lively first connected with in 2015, performed her 2019 hit “Lover.”
In addition to Lively and Reynolds, 47, their daughters Betty, 4, Inez, 7, and James, 9, were present at the event. A admirer shared a video of the family dancing together on X (formerly Twitter).
Additionally, the Gossip Girl alum brought James and Inez to the singer’s Eras Tour concert in Philadelphia in May 2023.
Swift disclosed that she serves as the godmother to the children of Lively and Reynolds last month. The “Fortnight” musician referred to Reynolds as “My godkids’ sperm donor!” in a tribute for his new film Deadpool & Wolverine on her Instagram Stories.
Lively and Reynolds have a son named Olin, who was born in February 2023, in addition to their three daughters.
