Three of Hollywood’s top females will soon call the Big Apple and the Boot home! In July of this year, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Anne Hathaway will film “The Devil Wears Prada 2” in New York and Italy. The actors will play their parts from “The Devil Wears Prada” again. In addition, Stanley Tucci will reprise his role as Nigel Kipling. Based on a script by Aline Brosh McKenna, who also wrote the previous film, David Frankel, who directed the first one, returns to helm this one.
The plot centers on Miranda Priestly (Streep), whose career is coming to an end as traditional magazine publishing loses favor. As a result, she is compelled to confront her former assistant, Emily Charlton (Blunt), who is currently a strong executive at a luxury company whose advertising funds Priestly desperately needs. Where Nigel Kipling (Tucci) and Andrea Sachs (Hathaway) figure into the story is yet unknown.
In Adam McKay’s post-apocalyptic black comedy “Don’t Look Up,” which also starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, and Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep most recently portrayed US President Janie Orlean. In Seasons three and four of “Only Murders in the Building,” she portrayed Loretta Durkin, Oliver’s (Martin Short) romantic interest. Her other recent roles include Ellen Martin in Steven Soderbergh’s “The Laundromat” and Aunt March in Greta Gerwig’s “Little Women.”
Emily Blunt has lately been in some big-budget movies, including ‘The Fall Guy’ (Jody Moreno), ‘Oppenheimer’ (Kitty Oppenheimer), the live-action/animation movie IF (the voice of Unicorn), and ‘Jungle Cruise’ (Lily Houghton). We will next see her as Dawn Staples, wife of UFC champion Mark Kerr (Dwayne Johnson) in ‘The Smashing Machine.’ She has also been reportedly cast in Martin Scorsese’s yet-untitled Hawaii-based gangster drama alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Dwayne Johnson.
The rom-com “The Idea of You,” which Anne Hathaway just starred in on Prime Video, centers on an older woman named Solène (Hathaway) who develops feelings for a younger male band lead singer. Recently, she has given us a range of characters, such as Patricia Jessup-Lauddem in “She Came to Me,” Rebecca in “Eileen,” and Céline in “Mothers’ Instinct.” She will next be seen in Christopher Nolan’s epic historical fantasy film “The Odyssey” and David Robert Mitchell’s mystery thriller “Flowervale Street.”
Stanley Tucci most recently starred as the US Ambassador in “The King’s Man,” Bellini in the political thriller “Conclave,” and Ethan Skate in the Netflix film “The Electric State.” Regarding television, we saw him in the roles of Frank Wild in AMC+’s “La Fortuna,” Jefferson Grieff in Netflix’s “Inside Man,” and Bernard Orlick in Prime Video’s “Citadel.” He will next be seen in Guy Ritchie’s fantasy adventure film “Fountain of Youth,” which also stars Eiza González, John Krasinski, and Natalie Portman.
The comedy film “Marley & Me,” the romantic comedy “Hope Springs,” which co-starred Streep and Tommy Lee Jones, and the fantasy film “Collateral Beauty,” which starred Will Smith, Keira Knightley, Edward Norton, Kate Winslet, and Helen Mirren, are among David Frankel’s most well-known feature directorial endeavors.
Recently, “A Quiet Place: Day One” and “It Ends with Us” were filmed in New York. This year, Mel Gibson’s “The Resurrection of the Christ” and Johnny Depp’s “The Carnival at the End of Days” will both be filmed in Italy.
