On Friday, January 29, the official website of the “A Galaxy Next Door” television anime, based on the manga by Gido Amagakure, released a second promotional video. The video features the series’ opening theme and confirms that the anime will premiere on April 8.
The Premise of A Galaxy Next Door
“A Galaxy Next Door” is a seinen romantic comedy manga series written and illustrated by Gido Amagakure. The series was first published in April 2020 by Kodansha in their Good! Afternoon magazine follows the story of Ichirou Kuga, a teenage boy who struggles to support his two younger siblings following their father’s death.
The series follows Kuga’s life and how it changes when his new manga assistant, Shiori Goshiki, declares them to be engaged and married. An anime adaptation of the series is set to premiere on April 8, and a live-action series inspired by the story is set to premiere on April 3rd, both in Japan. The anime will be streamed by Crunchyroll as it airs, but there may be a delay between the Japanese broadcast and the international release

The second promotional video for the anime adaptation of “A Galaxy Next Door” confirms that the pilot episode will be premiering on April 8. The anime is directed by Ruichi Kimura at Asahi Production studio, with Gigaemon Ichikawa in charge of the series scripts. Character designs are being handled by Yasuka Otaki.
Cast of A Galaxy Next Door
The main male character Ichirō Kuga in the anime/manga series “A Galaxy Next Door” will be voiced by Taku Yashiro and the main female character Shiori Goshiki will be voiced by Yū Wakui. Yashiro has had notable roles in the past, including Gugu in “To Your Eternity”, Natsuo Fujii in “Domestic Girlfriend”, Vulcan in “Fire Force”, and recently as the supporting character Hirokazu Arai in “Chainsaw Man”. Wakui, a newer voice actress, has also had notable roles, including Sumire Hikami in “Aikatsu!”, Meileen in “By The Grace of Gods”, and Yōko Nishikawa in “Three Leaves, Three Colors“.

The cast for “A Galaxy Next Door” also includes voice actors for supporting characters such as Machi Kuga (Rina Endou), Tsumugi Inuzuka (Sweetness & Lightning), Hina Kubota (Barakamon), Fumio Kuga (Maria Naganawa), Kanna Kamui (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid), Kesshouban (Cells at Work!), Chihiro Ibusuki (Rie Takahashi), Emilia (Re: Zero), Anzu Hoshino (Romantic Killer), Masahiro Morikuni (Tomokazu Sugita), Gintoki Sakata (Gintama), Escanor (Seven Deadly Sins), Momoka Morikuni (Youko Hikasa), Rias Gremory (High School DxD), Miyo Akiyama (K-On!).

The latest promotional video also revealed the series’ opening theme, “Tonari Awase” by Chinatsu Matsumoto. The anime will be streamed by Crunchyroll as it airs, but there may be a delay between the Japanese broadcast and the international release. This is a common practice for Crunchyroll’s simulcast properties and it is likely to be the same for “A Galaxy Next Door”.

The English versions of all four volumes have also been released by Kodansha USA, but with no set date for the release of the fifth volume.
