Taylor Swift, one of the last people to arrive at the 2024 Grammy Awards, immediately became viral on social media with her red carpet appearance. Later in the evening, she further stoked the fire from the Grammy stage.
Swift and her longtime publicist Tree Paine were having a conversation on the star-studded Grammy red carpet, which many on X (previously Twitter) soon picked up on.

“Does my watch need to be set?” Asking on the red carpet was Swift.
“Nope, it’s already perfect,” was Paine’s response. Midnight.
Naturally, the reference is to Swift’s 2022 studio album Midnights, which is nominated for two Grammy Awards: album of the year and best pop vocal album. The watch was around Swift’s neck rather than on her wrist. More than 300 carats of diamonds, including a choker with an antique timepiece in its heart, were given to Swift by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz.
Swift’s extravagant Schiaparelli gown, designed just for the occasion by Daniel Roseberry, looked stunning with the jewels. The exquisitely draped gown with corset lacing was reminiscent of a style Roseberry created for the ready-to-wear line for Fall 2023. Roseberry made changes to the pattern for Swift, including a long, dramatic train and a high leg slit.

The ensemble was completed by Swift and her regular stylist, Joseph Cassell, with black opera-length gloves and black slingback sandals. Meanwhile, the black-and-white combination sparked a flurry of comments on social media.
A few Swifties were certain that the ensemble was intended to hint at the impending release of her anticipated album, reputation (Taylor’s Version), which has been alluded to thus far through the use of — wait for it — a black-and-white photo.
Later on Sunday night, Swift earned her 13th Grammy for Midnights, the best pop vocal album. The performer acknowledged “the passion of the fans” while winning her award, and then there was a dramatic pause before she made the following astounding announcement: Onstage, she declared, “My brand-new album, The Tortured Poets Department, comes out on April 19.” “I’m going backstage right now to post the cover.”
