Plot and Storyline
The movie revolves around a group of 5 friends- David, Natalie, Eric, Mia, and Olivia. All intend to stay for a while in the secluded cabin. The cabin stores a dark history and a book named the Naturom Demonto that can invoke malevolent forces. In the past, a possessed girl was set ablaze by her father and an elderly woman. Mia Allen (Jane Levy) suffers from drug withdrawal, as she is addicted to heroin. in the cabin’s cellar, David Allen ( Shiloh Fernandez) finds the evil book along with a used double-barrel shotgun and rotting animal corpses.
When Eric, played by Lou Taylor Pucci, recites a passage from the book, a wicked energy is aroused. In the woods, Mia starts to see a demonic version of herself. In an attempt to flee, she takes Eric’s car but ends up in a pond. She becomes trapped by vines in the woods after the force chases her there. Via the vines, Mia’s doppelgänger takes control of her. Possessed Mia hammers their dog to death and is locked by Eric in the cellar. Mia splatters scarlet bile on Olivia’s face, possessing her as well. Possessed Olivia ( Jessica Lucas) stabs Eric and mutilates herself to death. Natalie ( Elizabeth Blackmore) is drawn into the cellar by Mia, who then bites her hand and slices her own tongue. Natalie is helped to flee by David.
Eric reveals that the ‘Taker of Souls’ has to seize five souls in order to unleash the “Abomination” according to the book. Mia needs to be “purified”—either by burning, dismemberment, or living burial. Natalie, who is now possessed, uses a nail gun to assault the two, but David shoots off her other arm, causing Natalie to bleed to death.
David chooses to bury Mia. Eric gets stabbed to death. After sedating and burying Mia, David hears her heart stop and raises her again, attempting to revive her. David kills Eric and himself by shooting a petrol can. As the fifth soul to be claimed, David’s death triggers blood to fall from the sky, and the Abomination, posing as Mia’s demonic twin, attacks her.
With a chainsaw, Mia cuts the Abomination’s legs off, but in the process, it flips over David’s Jeep and crushes her left arm. When Mia manages to free herself, her hand is severed, and she uses a chainsaw to cut the Abomination’s head in half before it returns to the earth and the rain stops. Unaware that the Naturom Demonto is still intact, a tired Mia departs.
