The charges were withdrawn after Holly spoke with the district attorney, to cut a long tale short. In the Season 5 finale, Carina and Maya meet with the immigration office for the first time.
Maya’s passionate outburst about losing her position as captain and blaming it on homophobia and sexism causes things to become intense. Immigration official Philip Dang finally grants her a green card despite the fact that she had an abrupt breakdown that might have ended her chances of receiving one.
