Plot
Cordell Walker comes back home after a long time of undercover work right after his wife died under questionable circumstances. He could not process the pain and loss and fled the scene avoiding his emotions. On returning he realizes the damage he has done. His teenage children find him difficult to connect with. His parents too cannot ignore the fact that ran away when they needed to be together, as a family.
However, Walker’s return gives them a chance to restart and reconnect.

The Characters of Walker 2
Cordell Walker
As the show already has a predecessor, a comparison between the portrayals of the eponymous character cannot be escaped. Chuck Norris’ Walker was more of a flat character, psychologically speaking. He simply had a direct approach to things. Norris himself had said that he was chosen because of his skills as a martial artist.
Jared Padalecki’s Walker is different, trying to keep up with the era where being simple is the most difficult thing. Hence the character too is more nuanced. He feels helpless at times, frustrated and sad. He is not any sort of supercop but more human. He learns about the damage he has done by leaving his children right after their mother’s death. He must try to salvage now.
Hoyt dies
Loss is the predominant theme in the show. After losing their wife, Walker loses his oldest friend Hoyt as well. He is afraid and threatened to find how rapidly he is losing the ones who always had his back.
Micki Ramirez
She is an ex-army and Cordell’s new partner. It is pretty interesting to see a Mexican – American woman play an important front role in a show that is supposed to be more appealing to conservative America. Representation has become more important now than ever and this tells of rising consciousness about diversity.
This role is played by Linda Morgan. She is the smart, quiet and observant character who is going to keep Walker in check and be a friend as he needs one badly.
Micki and Walker bonding
Micki and Walker seem to have bonded quickly. Viewers feel like a little more time could have been easily given. However, the two share good chemistry and easily give that best friend vibes. They become family rather than friends.
