With the rise of many affordable airlines, each claiming to offer a better experience than the others, it becomes difficult to choose among them. What happens if a budget airline affects your travel experience and ruins your trip?

Here is all the important information we have gathered about Vueling Airlines. This will help you get the necessary details before making a booking!

About Vueling Airlines

Vueling Airlines is a low-cost airline that is the biggest airline in Spain. It has the most planes and flies to the most places.

The airline was established in 2004 and its initial flight was from Barcelona to Ibiza. The airline carried a record-breaking 34 million passengers in 2019.

Vueling Airlines is also highly regarded as a low-budget airline.

What Packages are Offered by Vueling Airlines?

Vueling Airlines currently has 4 different packages available to cater to the needs of different passengers.

  • Basic Fares: Best prices for tourists who only need to carry one thing at a time.
  • Optima Fare: We offer affordable rates for checking in luggage weighing 25 kg, as well as allowing you to bring 2 hand-carry bags. Additionally, we provide free seat selection.
  • Family Fare: A good choice for families is available. It includes 25 kg of luggage, 2 pieces of hand luggage, the ability to choose seats for free, 2 free items for parents with children under 2 years old, and priority boarding.
  • Timeflex Fare: Perfect for people who travel often and need flexibility with their plans. The features of this offer include: – 2 hand luggage items – Unlimited flight changes at no extra cost – The option to receive flight credit as a refund – Priority boarding I think having unlimited flight changes makes it easy to adjust your trip without any stress.

Who Owned Vueling Airlines?

Vueling Airlines is a part of the International Airlines Group (IAG). In 2012, the multinational airline holding group officially purchased Vueling.

Many people get confused about whether Vueling Airlines is part of British Airways, but it is not. Vueling Airlines and British Airways are partner airlines, just like other airlines under IAG.

Where Does the Company Travel to?

In the beginning, Vueling Airlines had only 2 Airbus320 planes. These planes flew to 3 specific European destinations and one airport in France. Today, it goes to 140 places all over the world on different continents!

Vueling promises to provide its passengers with many opportunities and has been expanding its list of destinations. These are some of the most popular destinations:

  • Europe: Alicante, Barcelona, Brussels, Italy, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Valencia
  • Africa: Banjul, Cairo, Dakar, Marrakech, Tangier, Tunis
  • Middle East: Amman, Beirut, Tel Aviv

Does the Airline Serve Food and Drinks?

I’m sorry, but I need to give you a warning… There won’t be any free onboard food to snack on. Anything available will come at an additional cost. Unless you have bought a business-class ticket, that is.

The cost of food on Vueling Airlines is not included in the price of your ticket.

During your flight, you have the option to purchase food and drinks from their wide-ranging menu. The menu I saw has a variety of options, including complete meals, snacks, desserts, drinks, and alcoholic beverages.

The prices are not very expensive either, so if you start feeling hungry, it’s a good idea to call the crew and get something to eat.

Vueling Airlines Baggage Policy

I already mentioned this before, but when you fly with budget airlines, you will only be allowed to bring a small amount of baggage based on the ticket you bought. Even if you have more luggage than your package allows, there is still hope.

Here is the amount of allowance you will receive with each package:

  • You are allowed to bring one small bag that fits under the seat as your personal item.
  • Optima Fare includes the following baggage allowance: 1 personal item that fits under the seat, and 1 checked luggage weighing up to 25kgs.
  • Family Fare includes the following baggage allowance: one under-the-seat cabin bag (personal item) and one checked luggage weighing up to 25 kilograms.
  • The TimeFlex Fare includes the following baggage allowance: one personal item that fits under the seat, one checked luggage weighing up to 25kgs, and one carry-on suitcase weighing 10kgs.

Does Airline Have a Cancellation and Refund Policy?

Imagine that you are unable to travel on your scheduled flight for any reason. If you need to cancel your flight with Vueling Airlines, they have different options available for cancellations and refunds.

I didn’t cancel any fights, but I looked into the terms for you.

To begin, you have the option to change your flight at no cost within 24 hours of booking. After the specified time is over, you will need to pay approximately US$75 if the flight is in 15 days or approximately US$90 if it is less than 15 days away.

Flex passengers are exempt from any charges when making changes to their booking, unlike other passengers.

If you choose to cancel your flight, Vueling Airlines provides refunds in the form of cashback or flight credits. To get help, you can reach out to customer support either online or by calling their contact number. If more than 24 hours have passed, you will have to pay a cancellation fee.

If Vueling Airlines cancels or changes your flight, the airline will fully accommodate you.

Vueling Airlines Customer Service

When booking flights, many people overlook the importance of considering the quality of customer service provided by the airline. I understand. You typically only need to contact customer service when you encounter issues.

If you’ve had issues, the customer service quality can make or break an airline. Airlines receive a lot of customer feedback every day. It’s important to find out if the airline values its customers.

Vueling Airlines has several ways to contact their customer service. You can contact them by calling their phone number or sending them an email. The customer representative team is available to help with personalized questions from 9 am to 10 pm Spanish time every day of the week.

Regrettably, according to numerous online reviews, it is common for customer service to take several months to respond and address inquiries. I’ve noticed that this is a common occurrence with budget airlines, so maybe it’s just something we have to accept in order to save money.

Is Vueling Airlines Worth It?

To put it simply, I think Vueling Airlines is a good choice for people who are looking to travel on a budget.

You will receive essential amenities and have a secure travel experience at reasonable prices. There are 4 different packages available, so you will probably find one that meets your needs. Vueling Airline has a major downside, which is their below-average customer service and frequent cancellations or delays. I’m glad I didn’t have to deal with those.

FAQs

How is the Seating Arrangement on Vueling Airlines?

Vueling Airlines is a low-cost airline, which means their seating is designed to be affordable rather than luxurious. The economy seating is designed to be comfortable for travelers.

Although the seating is not very comfortable, it is similar to what you would find on other budget airlines. The seats can recline and offer an average legroom space of approximately 28 to 30 inches. The seats are typically arranged in a 3-3-3 pattern, depending on the type of aircraft.

Excellence seating offers extra legroom, priority boarding, and check-in, along with other advantages.

Does Vueling offer in-flight entertainment?

This is where things become unclear. When I flew with Vueling, I didn’t have a screen or entertainment system. Yes, they do offer Wi-Fi options, and they were one of the first budget carriers to do so!

What is the Vueling Club?

The Vueling Club is a program that rewards people who fly often. Members of the club can earn Avios points when they fly. These points can be used to get discounts on future travel, upgrade to a better cabin, and enjoy other benefits.

The Vueling Club lets you earn and use Avios points on other airlines in the IAG Group too. Consider companies such as Iberia and British Airways, which offer additional chances for you to save on travel.

What Codeshare Agreements Does Vueling Have?

Vueling partners with multiple airlines through codeshare agreements. This means that you have the option to book a flight with one airline, and part of your trip might involve flying with Vueling, or the other way around.

Vueling has codeshare agreements with several airlines including British Airways, Iberia, Qatar Airways, Aer Lingus, and others. These agreements are possible because Vueling is connected to the IAG Group.

To find the most recent information about partners, you can visit the Vueling website or get in touch with their customer service.
