A brutal anime, Vinland Saga is a show about anger. It’s a revenge story, one with a lot of rage and vengeance driving it. The story revolves around the main character Thorfinn who pursues a journey; not just any regular journey, but one with his father’s killer. His main intent? To take his life in an honorable duel and avenge his father, putting a rest to the fire that rages inside his heart, and paying a much overdue homage to his dead father.
The IMDb synopsis for the show reads:
A young man named Thorfinn finds himself in a quest for revenge against his father’s killer. Firstly indulged in the aparent greatness of war and honor, Thorfinn quickly changes as he endures having to survive alone and then alongside the man he vows to kill, developing conflicting emotions towards the causality of his past and present life.
As you can understand from the description, the show follows Thorfinn on his journey to achieve his much needed peace of mind and quench his thirst for vengeance. The show is one full of suspense and thrill and keeps the viewer on their toes throughout the entirety of the show.
