Vanessa Morgan discloses her daughter’s name!
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, August 21, the actress, 32, disclosed that her first child with fiancé James Karnik, Kaia Autumn Skye, was delivered on Saturday, July 27. Morgan had previously shared a TikTok video that disclosed Kaia’s arrival on Aug. 1, but she has refrained from disclosing additional information until now.
“Been enjoying all the baby snuggles these past 3 weeks with our angel. Beyond Grateful 🫶🏽,” Morgan wrote in the Instagram caption.
The post featured photographs of her and Karnik cradling their newborn girl’s hand. In one photograph, Kaia is depicted in the embrace of her elder brother, River, as he gazes affectionately at her. An additional photograph depicts Kaia and River’s feet, with Kaia seated on River’s lap.
Morgan’s ex-husband, Michael Kopech, is the father of her three-year-old son, River.
Morgan is depicted sitting beside Karnik, who is seen cradling the infant in his arms in another photograph. Kaia was attired in a delightful ensemble that comprised a lace-trimmed long-sleeve shirt and a polka dot skirt.
Morgan is depicted in one additional photograph kissing Karnik on the forehead while she envelops his neck and Kaia’s back.
Finalizing the Instagram carousel was a delightful photograph of the quartet. Morgan and Karnik gave kisses, while Kaia slept against her father’s chest and River smiled directly at the camera.
The family’s new addition was the subject of numerous comments from acquaintances and followers. Skeet Ulrich, Morgan’s Riverdale co-star, expressed his admiration for the family, writing, “Such a beautiful family ❤️❤️.”
Her Wild Cards co-star Giacomo Gianniotti expressed his congratulations on the new addition to the happy family, writing, “Congratulations to the new member of the happy family ❤️❤️.” Madison Pettis, Margaux’s costar, expressed her sentiment, “So precious 🥹.”
On Thursday, August 1, the Riverdale alumna previously disclosed that she had given birth to her second child in a TikTok video. A video was captured of Karnik transporting their infant out of the hospital.
“The famous hot dad walk while leaving the hospital didn’t disappoint,” she wrote.
“Ok fine, knock me up again 😂🤰🏽,” she joked in her caption, resharing the video on her Instagram.

Morgan’s Instagram post on July 6th disclosed that the couple was expecting a child. Morgan disclosed the gender of her and Karnik’s child in an additional Instagram post the following day, stating, “My GIRL🌸.. can’t believe you’re gonna be here any day now.”
In November 2021, Morgan discussed the parental advice she received from her former Riverdale costar, Mark Consuelos, and his wife, Kelly Ripa, after her daughter, River, was born in January 2021.
“I talked to Kelly [and Mark] after I gave birth [to River],” she said at the time. “They were just excited for me, and gave me beautiful, beautiful baby clothes for River.”
