In August of 1988, Tyson Fury was born in Wythenshawe, which is located in Manchester, England. His parents, Amber and John, are from Ireland. He was delivered one month before his due date. The likelihood of their newborn child surviving was extremely remote, the medical staff informed his parents. To quote John directly:

When Tyson was 9 years old, his mother gave birth to a girl who sadly did not survive more than a few weeks after her birth. Young Tyson was profoundly impacted as a result of the encounter. Fury was initially refused the opportunity to compete for Ireland at the Olympic Games; but, after he traced his ancestry to Belfast, he was later granted permission to compete for both Ireland and Great Britain. In 2008, when he was still an amateur, he won the ABA championship.

Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury squared off in a world heavyweight title bout in 2015. At stake were the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, Lineal, and The Ring heavyweight crowns. In 2015, the stars aligned to make this matchup possible. The match was held on November 28, 2015 in Dusseldorf, Germany, in front of a crowd that was completely sold out at 55,000 people. At odds of 4 to 1, Klitschko was indisputably the favorite to win.
The contest lasted till the very end. Following the completion of the 12 rounds, Fury was declared the winner by unanimous decision. Fury’s total earnings came to $7 million, while Klitschko’s were estimated to be over $23 million.
The victory lifted Fury’s record to 25–0 with 18 knockouts and lined him up for what should have been a big payday from a rematch versus Klitschko. However, the rematch was never scheduled to take place. In April of 2016, it was confirmed that there will be a rematch. In September of 2016, a medical examiner ruled that Tyson was unable to compete due to an injury. After it was revealed that he failed a drug test for cocaine, the bout was once again postponed until a later date.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Fury said that he had fallen into a severe depression. He said the following:
“This has nothing to do with my fighting; what I’m going through right now is something that’s happening in my personal life. I’m going through a lot of personal demons, and I’m trying to shake them off.
I haven’t set foot in a fitness center in many weeks. I’ve been struggling with depression recently. To put it simply, I have no desire to continue living at this point, if you get my meaning. I can’t take it any longer; I’ve got enough. Put cocaine out of your head. I just didn’t care. I don’t feel like living another day. Therefore, desiring to stop living is a significantly more significant problem than cocaine use. I am seeking assistance, but they are unable to assist me in any way. My condition is one that cannot be cured.
I do not wish to continue living. If you can’t find contentment in your life, then it doesn’t matter how much money, fame, or glory you have. I am currently visiting a psychiatrist. It’s been said that I have a form of bipolar disorder. I’m a manic depressive. Even the thought of waking up makes me cringe. I pray I die every day. And considering the fact that I have a wonderful wife and three beautiful children, isn’t that a terrible thing to say?
But at this point, I don’t feel like living anymore. And if I could end my own life — despite the fact that I am not a Christian — I would do so in an instant. I only hope someone kills me before I kill my self. It looks like I’ll be spending all of eternity in hell. I’ve been out drinking and doing cocaine every day of the week, from Monday through Sunday. I have no way of coping with it, and the only thing that seems to help is becoming so drunk that I black out.”

After relinquishing his world titles, Tyson took a break from the sport for more than two years while he focused on getting his life in order. In June of 2018, he made his comeback in the ring and won the fight against Sefer Seferi. He was victorious over Francesco Pianeta in August of 2018.
Tyson had his first bout against Deontay Wilder in December of 2018, and it was a memorable one. Both fighters were promised a certain amount of money for the bout, with Deontay receiving $4 million and Tyson receiving $3 million. The bout finished in a draw, earning both competitors around $10 million after taking into account all of the cash generated from the event. Unbelievably, shortly after the fight, Tyson disclosed his intention to give his whole payment to a charitable organization.
In June of 2019, Tyson won the match against Tom Schwarz through technical knockout.
In September of 2019, he won Otto Wallin by defeating him in a decision that was unanimous.
Deontay Wilder Rematch
It was decided that a rematch with Deontay Wilder would take place in 2020. As the fight date drew nearer, it became public knowledge that both combatants were guaranteed a total of $28 million, in addition to sharing equally in the pay-per-view earnings.
