American television personality, singer, model, and businesswoman Tyra Banks has a fortune of $90 million. Even though Banks began her career as a fashion model, she has built a fortune in the entertainment industry.
Tyra Banks Early Life
Banks was born on December 4, 1973, in the California city of Inglewood. Despite the fact that she was still in high school, she began her modelling career. She was rejected by four different modelling agencies before obtaining a contract with L.A. Models, which was her last choice. After that, when she was 16 years old, she signed with the Paris-based Elite Model Management agency, after which she relocated to Milan.
Her first appearance on the runway occurred two years later, during the 1991 Paris Fashion Week. During her very first runway season, she was booked for a total of 25 appearances.

The year was 1993, and Banks inked a deal with the American cosmetics company CoverGirl. The next year, she returned to the United States in order to continue her commercial modelling career.
Banks is one of only a handful of black models to achieve the label of “supermodel.” She has appeared on the covers of numerous magazines, including Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Spanish Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and others. She has appeared in fashion shows for a variety of designers, including Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Valentino, Fendi, Isaac Mizrahi, and Giorgio Armani, among others. In addition, she has appeared in advertisements for Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Versace, Victoria’s Secret, Pepsi, Nike, and a slew of other major brands and organisations.
She made history by becoming the first African-American model to appear on the covers of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue and GQ magazine, which premiered in 1997 and 1996, respectively, and became the first African-American model to appear on the covers of both publications.
Banks’s success as a model provided her with the option to branch out and resulted in a slew of appearances on television. Her first television performance was as Will Smith’s old friend Jackie Ames on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire, where she had a total of seven appearances. She has since gone on to have a successful acting career.
It was in John Singleton’s play Higher Learning that she made her feature film debut, which was in 1994. A doll named Eve who comes to life was the subject of her 2000 Disney film Life-Size, in which she co-starred with Lindsay Lohan. A sequel to Life-Size was released eight years later, and Banks reprised her role in it. In August 2016, Banks accepted a position as a guest professor at Stanford University, where she will speak about personal branding.
Following her re-emergence from modelling retirement to appear on one of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition covers in 2019, Banks said to Entertainment Tonight that she would be altering her modelling name to “BanX.”

After meeting and falling in love with Norwegian photographer Erik Asla in the early 2010s, they were blessed with a biological son, York Banks Asla, through surrogacy in January of 2016. The couple announced their separation in the fall of 2017.
Banks has also stated that she does not consume alcoholic beverages and has never engaged in recreational drug use.

It was in 2004 when Banks purchased a 5,740-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion for slightly more than $3 million. Eventually, she decided to sell the four-bedroom Spanish Colonial for $6.33 million, which she received in 2016.
A 7,000-square-foot duplex in Manhattan that Banks presently owns contains a salon, a fitness centre, as well as a dressing room with mirrored walls. She paid $10.13 million for the duplex in Battery Park City, which consists of four units. She purchased it in 2009. It was in March 2015 that she put the apartment on the market for rent, asking $50,000 per month.
