The Favorite (2018)
Sarah Churchill (Rachel Weisz) looks into the official matters of the court as the queen (Olivia Colman) goes under the weather. She becomes jealous as her cousin Abigail(Emma Stone) slowly wins her position and the Queen’s confidence.
Joaquin Phoenix won almost all the major awards including the Oscar for his jaw dropping performance as a failed comedian and as the criminal mastermind Joker.
Kramer Vs Kramer (1979)
A single father raising his son amidst job and other things. Ted (Dustin Hoffman) won the best actor Academy award and the film too won the best picture award. Meryl Streep (Joanna) not happy in her married life leaves behind her son and husband to start a life elsewhere.
The King’s Speech(2010)
Autobiographical in nature this movie shows us the impending speech problem King George VI (Colin Firth) struggled with. He was helped by speech therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush) in his journey.
The Marriage Story (2019)
Nominated for best picture, best actor and best actress, The Wedding Story talks about the grueling marriage of Nicole (Scarlett Johansson) and Charlie (Adam Driver) which is falling apart. On their course of divorce they discover their creative yet extreme ends.
12 Years A Slave (2013)
This movie is heartbreaking. It shows the pain and suffering the Black community had to endure under racism. The movie won the Academy award for best film in 2014.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Rami Malek won the best actor in a leading role in the Academy Award 2019. This movie follows the story of Freddie Mercury and his journey to achieve super stardom with his British rock band, Queen.
