James Mattis: Trump’s former defence secretary denounces president

The Situation

In a few never-heard-before public comments, James Mattis, Trump’s former defence secretary had something to share.

He said that the president had made sure to divide the Americans and had, if anything, only failed to provide a mature enough leadership.

He went on to say that he was utterly disappointed and angry at him for the increasing unrest in the country.

After all of this was said, President Trump described James Mattis as an overrated general.

Procession

He went on to say that he was glad Mattis had left the post.

Mr Mattis had resigned in 2018 after Donald Trump had decided to withdraw US troops from Syria.

Donald Trump posted a series of tweets wherein he bashed James Mattis.

He wrote that the only thing he and Obama had in common was that both of them had the opportunity to fire Jim Mattis.

Trump went on to say that he is the most overrated General. He said he had asked for his letter of resignation and felt great about it.

He ended the tweet saying that he didn’t like his nickname ‘Chaos’ so he changed it to ‘Mad Dog’.

What Next

Now when Trump’s failing administration was condemned by almost every citizen, Mattis found it a good time to rebuke.

He said that Donald Trump was the first president in his life who does not try to unite the American people – does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide them.

He continued saying that all of us are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort.

James Mattis also talked about the surge of anti-racism protests that were triggered by the death of African-American George Floyd.

A vast majority of protests have been utterly peaceful.

However, vandalism has been detected in a few places and we’re afraid, matters could get worse.
