Trump’s Gujarat Event Responsible For Virus Crisis In Mumbai: Sanjay Raut
On Sunday, that is, the 31st of May, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut blamed the event held in Ahmedabad to welcome US President Donald Trump in February.
He said it was the very thing responsible for the spread of coronavirus in Gujarat and later in Mumbai and Delhi.
The leader condemned the central government, saying they have been as unplanned as ever and now the entire responsibility has fallen on the states.
Procession
The leader said the perpetual spread of coronavirus in Gujarat was because of the massive public gathering held to welcome US President Donald Trump.
Some of the delegates, who accompanied Trump, also visited Mumbai and Delhi.
This was what led to the spread of the virus, Mr Raut blamed.
On February 24, Trump and the Indian PM Narendra Modi had taken part in a road-show in Ahmedabad.
This was, nonetheless, attended by thousands of people.
After the road-show, the two leaders had addressed a gathering of over one lakh people at Motera cricket stadium as well.
Right after this, Gujarat was the first state to report coronavirus cases on March 20.
This happened when samples of a Rajkot man and a Surat woman tested positive.
What Now
Mr Raut said that if the Uddhav Thackeray-led MVA government is pulled down, it will be a sheer disaster.
Imposing President’s rule in the state showing its apparent failure in curbing coronavirus would be suicidal as well.
He went on to say that the lockdown was imposed without any planning whatsoever.
The leader added that the mess has been already made by the government in the centre
Now the responsibility of lifting it has been left to the states and this chaos will further worsen the crisis.
