In an interview with presenter Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Scott disclosed that he strives to up the ante onstage and feeds off of his audience.

Rapper Scott is not the first to press play on a song while it is performing live. Jay-Z and Kanye West performed their collaboration song “N-ggas In Paris” 12 times in a row for a Paris audience in 2012. Scott played his hit song “Goosebumps” fourteen times at a Houston event in 2017.
“FE!N” is from Scott’s album Utopia, which was released during the summer and is nominated for a Grammy. While on tour, Scott informed Fallon about his Grammy nomination. Hundreds of lawsuits ensued, but Scott won’t be prosecuted for the incident.

Following the incident, Scott continued with his career, releasing Utopia in July and playing numerous shows all over the world in the previous two years. He claimed that the memories of what transpired at Astroworld followed him throughout it all.
“It was therapeutic to be able to channel some of the energy into production and sounds and finishing it,” Scott said of the thought of simply picking up music again and working on it.
