Top Gun is a 1986 film based on the US Navy. The original movie stars Tom Cruise as Maverick along with Van Kilmer. A second Top Gun movie is coming out this summer.

Top Gun Maverick: What Is The Premise?

The sequel of the Top Gun movie will follow the story of Pete Mitchell, played by Cruise. Years have passed since he lost his friend Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, known as “Goose.” He is training young Top Gun graduates for a mission of great magnanimity.

While doing so, he meets Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (played by Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late best friend. 

The story proceeds as Maverick trains these young guns as he deals with the ghosts of his past and in the process finds love.

Top Gun Maverick: Release Date

We recently reported that Paramount Pictures moved the movie’s release date two days earlier. Paramount Pictures will release the film on 24th June 2020, as opposed to the earlier date of 26th June. 

Top Gun Maverick: Cast

What we know for sure is that Tom Cruise will be reprising his role from the first movie. Van Kilmer will be reprising his role as Iceman.

He now ranks as Vice Admiral. Apart from these two, we will see a host of young actors joining the cast. One of these will be Miles Teller of Whiplash fame. He will play the role of Lt Bradley Bradshaw.

Other actors who will join the cast are Jennifer Connelley who will play Maverick’s love interest, Penny, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Manny Jacinto, Ed Harris, Monica Barbaro, Charles Parnell, Jay Ellis and Danny Ramirez.

Is Tom Cruise Secretly Engaged?

Well we know that Tom Cruise’s Maverick will have a love interest in the movie, Penny played by Jennifer Connelly. But is the actor engaged in real-life?

A year ago, there were rumors that Tom Cruise was secretly engaged to Elisabeth Moss. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked Elisabeth about the news. The Invisible Man star revealed that they are untrue and have become something of a joke among her pals.

That confirms for us that there is nothing much abuzz in the actor’s personal life.
