We can expect some dark nature in the plot, as At Guadalajara International Book Fair 2016, Martin gave some hints about the dark nature of The Winds of Winter: … “I’ve been telling you for 20 years that winter was coming. Winter is the time when things die, and cold and ice and darkness fill the world, so this is not going to be the happy feel-good that people may be hoping for. Some of the characters [are] in very dark places. Things get worse before they get better, so things are getting worse for a lot of people.”

- In an HBO behind-the-scenes interview, Bran Stark actor Isaac Hempstead shared that it was author’s idea to make Bran King. “David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] told me there were two things George R.R. Martin had planned for Bran, and that was the Hodor revelation and that he would be king,” Wright said. “So that’s pretty special to be directly involved in something that is part of George’s vision. It was a really nice way to wrap it up.”
