The United States has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first nation in the world to accumulate 3,000 Olympic medals. The following celebrities have been observed cheering at the Paris Olympics.
The swimmers of Team USA won four additional medals at the swimming finals for the 2024 Summer Olympics on Tuesday, July 30, enabling America to accomplish the uncommon feat. Team USA verified the achievement by posting a message on X that included images of numerous Olympic athletes proudly displaying their medals.
The 3,000 medals total encompasses both the Summer and Winter competitions.
After winning a silver medal in her race at La Defense Arena, Regan Smith expressed her pride to reporters, stating, “I am extremely proud of myself.”
Bronze was awarded to Katharine Berkoff. In a split second, Moldova’s Adil Osmanov went from sheer joy to sheer pain after a freak injury occurred to him while he was celebrating his medal victory.
“I’m so proud of Katherine and the legacy that she has upheld. Her dad is absolutely incredible and I know that he’s proud of her too and it’s just really special to kind of see that continue,” Smith, 22, added of her teammate, whose father David Berkoff is a four-time Olympic medalist in swimming.

Bobby Finke, who had previously won the gold medal in the men’s 800-meter freestyle at the Tokyo Games in 2020, finished in second place that same day.
The 24-year-old swimmer stated to reporters that he “really did the best I could” and should be satisfied of his performance, even if it did not result in a gold medal. He also expressed that it is disappointing not to have won.
Carson Foster stated to PEOPLE that he has been content with his colleagues’ interactions thus far.
“This group is really easy,” the 22-year-old American swimmer said while chatting with reporters. “I mean, we’ve all swam together for a couple of years now and so I think it’s not much talking about the race. It’s more just hanging out, having a good time and having good energy before the race.”
He further stated, “This is a group we love to race with and there’s no better group to share the podium with.”
Simone Biles, 27, has become the most decorated U.S. gymnast in Olympic history with her eighth medal at the 2024 Paris Games, surpassing Shannon Miller. The women’s gymnastics team, which includes Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, has also been the subject of attention.
The women competed on four apparatuses during their team final: vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor. They remained in first position throughout the entire event and ultimately secured gold medals.
