Review Based On First Episode
When Philip Roth published the novel in 2004, the story happens during the 1940s. It was quite the talk of the town. The alternate American history where the German won World War II and America elects a fascist President to rule them.
The Plot Against America will project to the current situations of America. It is the right moment to release a show like this when the President of America is Donald Trump. The book and hopefully the series have the potential to save America from its basest impulses.
It is not the first series in the past few years that’s making a case for the rise of fascism. But Philip Roth’s novel is the most beautifully written story that portrays it artfully.
Now only the first episode is out. As The Plot Against America moves on, we’ll find how anti-semitism rises in America and how it affects every Jewish family members. A critic complaint is that the women have very little to do in the first episode that is Kazan.
There very less layered female characters. So it’s hard to judge Karen’s contribution based on the first episode. We hope that women rise more robust in further episodes. However, the female characters do have tremendous depth and complexity attached to them.
The goal of ‘The Plot Against America’ is not to infuse fear among citizens. It is for us to be inspired and remind ourselves of the value of humanity. To give us the motivation stand together to fight against anyone who’s bringing in evil policies.
