“Hi. For any OBX fans who have been waiting for S4 since S3 was released, they have just been picked up. Production will begin at the end of May. “They’ll be there until the end of the year.”

If this is true, it would be the quickest the cast and crew returned to work after the premiere of a new season.
What the Rumour Means for the Release of Outer Banks Season 4?
If the rumour is true, this is fantastic news for series fans. Season 4 of Outer Banks was renewed by Netflix prior to the release of season 3. Hopefully, this will allow the creative team to begin work on season 4 planning and writing. That’s what would have had to happen in order for production to begin so quickly.
A report in 2021 confirmed they were already working on season 4, which was welcome news for fans at the time. It appears that the work done in advance is paying off, and this could result in a smaller gap between seasons 3 and 4 of the series.

What can we expect from the fourth season in terms of plot? Given the cliffhanger at the end of Season 3, there’s a lot to cover.
As a reminder, episode 10 concluded with The Pogues closing in on the treasure deep into the jungle, with John B and Sarah facing their most difficult challenges and loss.
Of course, the loss was the two major deaths by the end of Season 3 in the form of Big John and Ward dying while fighting off Carlos Singh and his men.
Fast forward to the final few scenes, and we see an 18-month time jump that concludes the season on a happy note and sets up the next adventure.
A mysterious older man approaches The Pogues with a job offer in the final scenes. Despite his initial scepticism, it is revealed that he owns a 1718 manuscript containing information on the notorious pirate captain Edward Teach, also known as “Blackbeard.”
He is looking for partners to help him investigate the document, which contains precise details about Teach’s voyages and the location of his ship.
Expect the unexpected, as the creators have repeatedly stated in interviews since the release of Outer Banks. Season 4 will, according to Josh Pate, “not be the usual Blackbeard story.”
Of course, the show’s cast and crew have teased what we might see in the upcoming season. After one ridiculous interview, the showrunners teased that the show might go the Fast & Furious franchise route and head to space.
Is There Going to Be a Fifth Season of Outer Banks on Netflix?
Several outlets reported in the early days of the show that the creators intended for it to run for four or five seasons.
They told EW in February 2023 that those plans are no longer in place and that they intend to keep the show running for as long as possible.

But, before we get there, here are the people we know will be back for another round of treasure hunting in season 4.
It’s difficult to imagine the Outer Banks without Chase Stokes and John B. He’ll be back with JJ (Rudy Pankow), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), Kie (Madison Bailey), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), and Cleo for another adventure (Carlacia Grant). Unfortunately, neither Charles Esten nor Charles Halford will be returning because Ward Cameron and Big John were killed at the end of Season 3. We’ll have to say goodbye to the fathers unless they appear in flashbacks.
Elsewhere, Carla Limbrey (Elizabeth Mitchell) could return because she may have unfinished business with John B. Big John lied to her in season 3 and gave her a random piece of fabric, claiming it was the magical shroud she was looking for. If she discovers that she has been duped, she may seek retaliation.
