The New Mutants: Release Moved Up Along With “Antlers” As Coronavirus Spreads

The fear of the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak is increasing every day. While people are suggested to make minimum social contact, many social events are being cancelled. It is also affecting the release of upcoming movies.

Let’s find out which movies are taking the toll.

The New Mutants

Based on Marvel comics, The New Mutants is an upcoming American horror movie belonging to the genre of superheroes. Josh Boone has directed the movie.

The movie revolves around five mutants who are held by force in a facility against their wills. The new mutants uncover their own superpowers as they try to escape the place and be free.

All the mutants belong to different nationalities and have different supernatural abilities:

  1. Rahne Sinclair or Wolfsbane- the ability to turn into a wolf.
  2. Roberto de Costa or Sunspot- the ability to manipulate solar energy.
  3. Sam Guthrie or Cannonball- Invulnerable in air.
  4. Illyana Rasputin or Magik- Teleportation.
  5. Danielle Moonstar or mirage- the ability to create illusions derived from people’s fears and dreams.

The cast of the movie includes Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Henry Zaga as Sunspot, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, and Blu Hunt as Mirage. Alice Braga plays Dr Cecilia Reyes, their mentor.

Antlers

Directed by Scott Hooper, Antlers is an upcoming sci-fi horror drama. The story of the movie is adapted from a short story by Antosca, “A Quiet Boy”.

Lucas Weaver is a quiet boy who is hiding a supernatural creature in his house secretly. His school teacher, Julia Meadows, and her brother, Sheriff Paul, get worried as the creature creates trouble in town.

Jeremy T. Thomas plays Lucas in the movie, with Keri Russell playing his teacher, Julia Meadows, and Jesse Plemons playing her brother, Paul Meadows. Other actors in the movie are Scott Haze, Graham Greene, Rory Cochrane, Amy Madigan, Cody Davis, Sawyer Jones, and Jake T. Roberts.

The movie was set to release on April 17th, 2020.
