We’ll be parasailing off Hyrule’s highest mountain once more, as Nintendo has announced a sequel to The Legend Of Zelda : Breath Of The Wild. The announcement came all the way back during E3 2019, but we’ve seen a steady trickle of rumours since then.
Known Leaker Talks About The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Sequel
Originally, there were reports that the sequel to The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild would come out as early as 2020. They came from Sabi, a reliable and known leaker within the video game industry.
They said that Nintendo The Legend Of Zelda did originally have plans to release the game in 2020. However, they also added that games in the Zelda series tend to be delayed quite often. So, that 2020 release window was tentative at best.
It’s looking more and more likely that game may come out in 2021 instead. The first game came out in 2017 and went on to win Game Of The Year at that year’s Game Awards.
We Only Have A Small Teaser For The Game So Far
While a video game sequel coming out in three years isn’t unheard of, we’ve seen very little of this one. All they showed at E3 2019 was a short teaser trailer. We haven’t seen any concrete gameplay from it.
Nintendo may have had plans to reveal more about the game this year regardless of when they planned on releasing it. However, E3 2020 isn’t happening at all. So, they’re going to have to rack their brains as to how they reveal more from the game.
Rumblings that Nintendo was actually working on a sequel have actually been around since before Nintendo’s announcement. They caught fire when we heard reports that Nintendo was looking for a 3D Level Designer in 2018.

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Sequel Rumoured For A While
While it could’ve been for any number of games, fans were hoping that this was for the sequel to Breath Of The Wild. After all, why wouldn’t they? The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild received near-universal critical and fan acclaim.
The game has also sold nearly 18 million units so far, which is insane considering the fact that The Legend Of Zelda it’s only available on the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Wii U. Still, with all these things considered, a sequel was simply a matter of time.
For now, players can still enjoy the first game. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild is available on the Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, and Wii U.
