The Handmaid’s Tale season 4 release date, cast, trailer, plot: When is the series out?
What Is Handmaid’s Tale
Created by Bruce Miller and adapted from a book with the same name written by Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale is an American dystopian drama series.
First released in 2017 on the streaming platform Hulu, The Handmaid’s Tale was quick to notch hundreds of thousands of viewers worldwide.
It’d be undeniably safe to say how well the show has been doing, both commercially and critically.
It won the ‘Outstanding Drama Series’ award, so, you know, I’m not actually exaggerating when I say it blew my mind the first time it aired.
The story practically has a setting of Post-American Civil War, where the environment is anything, but live-worthy.
How Popular Is The Handmaid’s Tale
The series has won plenty of awards, I’m talking PLENTY. Nominated for a thousand, won around about a hundred. Not bad, eh!
It is broadcasted in Scandinavia, Ireland, Canada, and the US among others, notching an insanely huge viewership!
The First season hit screens on the 26th of April 2017. The second season came up to be telecasted on the 25th of April, 2018.
Subsequently, the third season was released on the 5th of June, 2019. If anything, fans are now super excited about the fourth season!
The story has a plot which is unquestionably graphic and exceedingly striking. The setting has differed from being in Cambridge to that in Toronto and Ontario.
Season 4 In The Cards?
The Handmaid’s Tale was always released yearly once by June, but I’m afraid it won’t be the case this time.
As you all, of course, know how the pandemic has left us vile and punctured back home without any allowance of proceeding with our normal lives, whatsoever.
Similarly, production for the series has been on a halt too.
The creators have claimed that there isn’t going to be a fourth season rundown by mid-2020 at least.
We see in Season 3 how the kids practically flee to Canada. This is a huge incident in itself.
More so, in a world where they are already less in number, the incident becomes too big a deal.
No trailer has been out for Season 4 as the team had pleaded safety for their own crew and for ours, as well.
Let’s just pray we get to see June Osborne and her estranged daughter, Hannah, have a reunion like no other?
And for June, Luke and their baby to flock from the atrocious Gilead and have a complacent life of their own?
Hulu hasn’t set a specific premiere date yet, but The Handmaid’s Tale is now expected to arrive in 2021.
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 will arrive later than previous seasons, primarily due to the Hollywood-wide production shutdowns in March.
Seasons 1 through 3 premiered in either the spring or summer. Season 4 was expected to be released in Fall 2020 after it was renewed just weeks ahead of the Season 3 finale premiere in 2019.
