On Friday, May 6, 2022, the first two episodes of Tehran’s second season will premiere on Apple TV+. Tehran is an espionage thriller set in Iran. In addition, we’ve gotten our first glance at Glenn Close, who will be appearing in the series.
The release date for the International Emmy Award-winning series was announced by the streaming service on Thursday, along with a preview image from the upcoming season. It will premiere with the first two episodes of the second season, followed by new weekly instalments every Friday for the remainder of the season, which will run through June 17, 2022.
Tehran is directed by Niv Sultan and stars Niv Sultan as Tamar Rabinyan, a Mossad operative who travels on a risky covert mission in Tehran that puts her and everyone else in her vicinity in significant danger. Close will portray a British woman who is a resident of the troubled city. Shaun Toub, who previously appeared on Homeland, and Shervin Alenabi, who previously appeared on Gangs of London, also star in the series.
The Israeli spy series, which was created by Moshe Zonder, Omri Shenhar, Dana Eden, Daniel Syrkin, and Maor Kohn, premiered on Israel’s Kan public television channel in June 2020 before making its global debut on Apple TV+ in September of same year. Syrkin serves as the series’ director, while Shenhar and Zonder are in charge of scripting the episodes.

Eden and Shula Spiegel are executive producers for Donna and Shula Productions, Alon Aranya is executive producer for Paper Plane Productions, Julien Leroux is executive producer for Paper Entertainment, Peter Emerson is executive producer for Cineflix Studios, and Zonder, Shenhar, Syrkin, and Eldad Koblenz are executive producers for Kan 11.
Eden won the award for Best Drama at the International Emmy Awards in November, and she spoke about the human element that was at the heart of the spy drama. “I’d like to point out that Tehran is more than just an espionage series. Knowing the human being behind your adversary is essential, and we’re working on that every day on our set,” she emphasised (via The Jerusalem Post).
Her statement continued, “We’re currently filming our second season, and we’re working with Iranian actors from all over the world, as well as Iranian refugees who have just fled the current regime in Iran. We work in collaboration, through love, and we’ve discovered that we have a lot in common.” She went on to say, “We’re currently filming our second season, and we’re working with Iranian actors from all over the world,” she said. Consequently, I believe it provides optimism for the future, and I believe that we, the Iranians and the Israelis, will be able to walk together in Jerusalem and Tehran as friends rather than as adversaries.”
Tehran, Season 2, premieres on Apple TV+ on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 9 p.m. ET.

Iranian-American actress Niv Sultan is nothing like the character Tamar Rabinyan from the Apple TV+ series Tehran, which she portrays on the network. Compared to her stern Mossad computer hacker agent character on the show, she is charming and endearing to watch. During a catch-up session during Paris Fashion Week, Sultan spoke up about her journey into acting, her first experience with Paris Fashion Week, and her impending press tour in the United States.
Sultan, who was born in 1992 in Jerusalem to a Sephardic Jewish family, had a life away from the spotlight of screenplays, auditions, and television cameras. Sultan chose to accompany a buddy to a meeting with his agent after finishing her mandatory military service in the Israeli Defense Force. However, there is more to the storey than most people are aware of at this point.
“Most people believe that the storey of my acquaintance was just a coincidence. It certainly wasn’t! According to her, it was all part of a larger strategic strategy. “After I finished my army service, I went to my friend’s agency with him.
I sat in the lobby, pretended to be reading one of the magazines, and waited for someone to notice that I was there. In the end, it did happen, and I’m still represented by this company to this day.” Her plan from that point on revolutionised her life and eventually brought her to the forefront of the international film industry.
Sultan, on the other hand, was primarily renowned in her home country of Israel as an actress before moving to Tehran. She starred in a television series called The Stylist, in which she played a woman who relocated to Tel Aviv in order to pursue a career in fashion, a situation Sultan could relate to, having recently relocated to Tel Aviv in order to pursue a career in acting.
Sultan describes her attendance at the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week’s autumn/winter 2022 fashion week as “a dream come true.” She attended the Chanel show as part of her “dream come true.”
“The show was wonderful,” she continues, “and I had no idea how powerful and intense it would be until I watched it.” I was completely taken aback! I also had the opportunity to tour Gabrielle Chanel’s residence, which was both touching and inspiring. I highly recommend it. “What an enthralling woman she is.”
Sultan had the opportunity to relax a little while in Paris as well. “I was fortunate to have some downtime and was able to indulge in some tourist activities for a few hours throughout my visit.” In addition, I was able to visit some of my favourite and clearly iconic Parisian locations, such the Île Saint Louis and its gorgeous cafes, the Pont des Arts, the Eiffel Tower, and the Palais Ephémère, where the Chanel show was held. I also had the opportunity to visit the Chanel show. Paris will remain one of my favourite cities for the foreseeable future.”
