On Sunday, during her final Eras Tour performance of three consecutive nights in Melbourne, Australia, Taylor Swift entered the spotlight and unburdened her emotions.
The 34-year-old singer’s medley of “Daylight” from Lover and “Come Back…Be Here” from her Red album caused many of the 96,000 attendees to erupt in unison when the bridge of the latter song materialized unexpectedly.
The mashup was performed during the “surprise songs” segment of her three-hour setlist inside Melbourne Cricket Ground. The fourteen-time Grammy winner personally selects two tracks off the setlist for each Eras performance: one on guitar and one on piano.

Swift rarely performs a medley in front of an audience like she did on Sunday.
Although uncommon, this was the second consecutive evening that the “Mastermind” vocalist performed a mashup for Swifties. Swift assembled the songs “Getaway Car,” “August,” and “The Other Side of the Door” on Saturday while strumming a guitar.
Swift took special care to recognize the fact that the Melbourne crowds were the largest of her eighteen-year career.
Swift expressed gratitude on Sunday to the approximately 288,000 attendees of the Eras Tour that occurred between February 16-18.
Swift stated onstage, “96,000 people the first night, 96,000 people the second night, and 96,000 people tonight.” “Those three performances are the largest I’ve ever witnessed on a tour, and you accomplished it with ease.” According to the calculations, there will be 288,000 individuals over the course of three evenings.
“You, Melbourne, are the object of my affection.” She continued, “I cannot believe you; what have you done?” “Extremely kind of you to do that for someone; it truly makes them feel welcome.”
Melbourne, what do I even say to you after over 288,000 of you came and danced with us in the last 3 nights ??! That was unforgettable. You were on an another LEVEL. Thank you for the memories. I’ll revisit the ones from this weekend often 🥲🫶

Swift expressed her appreciation in an additional message on X (previously Twitter). “What am I to say, Melbourne, when more than 288,000 of you have attended and danced with us over the past three nights? That left an indelible mark. “Your level was entirely different,” she composed. “Excellent memories; thank you.” “Frequently, I will revisit the ones from this weekend.”
The Eras Tour will continue from February 23 to 26 at Accor Stadium in Sydney.
