Supergirl fans, we have some disappointing news for you. It has come to light that the DCEU’s Supergirl movie is not going to happen.
As most of the movies are affected by the coronavirus pandemic, Supergirl is no exception to that. The production work of the film was supposed to start in the early 2020s, but due to the pandemic situation, it did not go any further.
However, this is not all, and there might be other reasons why the film is not happening. And here is all you need to know about it.

About The Film
One of the reasons for the hype of the film was the antagonist. It is reported that Brainiac was going to play the role of villain.
Warner Bros has a reputation to uphold. Most of the movies were either really well-received and did great globally, but the rest of them was an utter flop. They cannot take any more risks if they have to compete with cinematic giants like Marvel. The upcoming films must perform well.
We are not sure how far did the Supergirl film reach because not much information is revealed. But interestingly, WB is going to work on their major character Superman.

It is assumed that Superman films are the first priority of the production house at the moment. And after the work is finished, they can focus on other projects.
A systematic and consistent effort will go a long way rather than just making films for the sake of it. In addition to their preference, this is precisely the strategy they are going to adopt.
