When Shrek 5 Release on the Screen?

Recently, in an interview with Eddie, the actor who is behind the voice of the donkey, has revealed some exciting details about the film. What are they? Yes, the majority of you guessed it right, it is about Shrek 5.

According to him, the movie is planning to extend the story of the animated movie by releasing the fifth part of the film. As soon as the news hit the internet, fans became vulnerable to learn more about it.

Following the success of the Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots: The Last Wish two years ago, the Donkey said, “We started doing Shrek 4 or 5 months ago,” he revealed, referring to the follow-up to 2010’s Shrek Forever After.

“I recorded the first act and we’ll be doing it this year, we’ll finish it up. Shrek is coming out, and Donkey’s gonna have his own movie. We’re gonna do Donkey as well,” the comedy legend went on to tease.

“So we’re gonna do a Shrek, and we’re doing a Donkey [movie].”

    • One of the Three Blind Mice

Chris Meledandri, founder and CEO of Illumination and also the boss of DreamWorks, said in a recent interview, “We anticipate the cast coming back. Talks are starting now, and every indication that we’ve gotten is there’s tremendous enthusiasm on behalf of the actors to return,” he teased.

“[Eddie Murphy’s recent comments are] evidence of his strong enthusiasm for a role that he so brilliantly inhabited and created alongside the artists at DreamWorks. I found that comment to be very exciting.

Murphy’s aforementioned comments on the series are something different. He said he’d love to play Donkey again “in two seconds” and called for the loudmouth animal sidekick to get his spin-off.

What does the Creator Says About the Movie?

The showrunner said, “It’s not that dissimilar to the process that we went through with [The Super Mario Bros Movie], where you look at what the core elements are that audiences have loved, and you do your very best to honor those core elements,”

“And then you’re hard at work to build story elements and new characters that take you to brand new places. The original cast is a huge part of that.”

Asked if the two projects were being made concurrently, he then clarified: “No, not at the same time. I started recording Shrek, I think it’s coming out in 2025, and we’re doing a Donkey one next.”

Meanwhile, before Shrek 5 was officially confirmed, Murphy expressed to Etalk just how much he’d like to jump back into that fantastical world of ogres and princesses.

“I’d be open if they ever came with another Shrek, I’d do it in two seconds. I love Donkey,” he began. “You know, they did Puss in Boots movies. I was like, ‘They should have done a Donkey movie. Donkey is funnier than Puss in Boots. I mean, I love Puss in Boots, but he ain’t funny as the Donkey.’

“I would do a Donkey movie. I would do another Shrek in two seconds,” the star reiterated.
