Deadpool 3 is definitely going to happen at some point in the future. There was some worry that Ryan Reynolds’ hugely popular take on the merc with a mouth wouldn’t see a return. This especially in the aftermath of Disney’s take over of Fox, which used to own the movie license to the X-Men and Deadpool.
Ryan Reynolds Would Love For Deadpool To Join The MCU
However, it’s all back with Marvel Studios now. This has all fans of the character to ask the same question – is Deadpool now going to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? The door is open for that possibility, after all.
Jimmy Fallon had Ryan Reynolds on his show for a quarantine edition of The Tonight Show. He also brought up this subject of whether Deadpool would remain in his own little bubble, or join the larger MCU. Here’s what Reynolds said in response: “I see infinite possibility in either version. If Deadpool were to be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it would be explosive, and amazing, and what a sandbox to play in.”
Deadpool 3 May Be Its Own Thing
He doesn’t seem to mind the idea of Deadpool being his own thing, though. “If Deadpool continued to get to just do his own thing, and be his own thing… Also just, like, infinite possibility,” he said.
This makes it pretty clear that, as of right now, they haven’t made the decision one way or another. Even if they have, they don’t want to say in public. In any case, everyone can rest assured with the knowledge that Ryan Reynolds is still going to continue as Deadpool.

Writers Have Previously Said That Deadpool 3 Is Happening
This isn’t a huge surprise, though. Many people associated with the Deadpool films have said similar things about the character’s future. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were positive about the chances of Deadpool 3 happening.
“Marvel has promised to continue to let us play in the R-rated Deadpool universe, and the hope is that they will also let us veer into the MCU a little bit as well and play in that sandbox,” said Wernick.
So, here are the key takeaways. Deadpool 3 is still happening and Ryan Reynolds is going to be back in the role.
