Ron Conway is an American angel investor who is estimated to be worth $1.5 billion. He is the founder of the Conway Group. The son of a political science professor, Ronald C. Conway graduated with honors from San Jose State University with a Bachelor's degree in political science.
At the time of his first foray into the computer industry, he had little knowledge of the technology in question. Despite this, he was still able to make a fortune in the industry.
In the marketing department of National Semiconductor Corporation from 1973 to 1979, he was employed by them. During his tenure as President and CEO of Altos Computer Systems, which he co-founded in 1979, he helped the company grow to over 100 employees.
