‘Big Little Lies’ was directed by Zoë Kravitz, with Reese Witherspoon serving as an assistant.
Reese Witherspoon is adept at transforming any occasion into a delightful family gathering.
Witherspoon, 48, and her son Deacon Phillippe, 20, attended the premiere of Blink Twice, the directorial debut of Zoë Kravitz, her co-star in Big Little Lies, on Thursday, August 8.
The Morning Show host donned a black sweetheart-neckline blouse and wide-leg trousers that matched her attire for the occasion. Her son selected a more informal ensemble, consisting of white trousers, a blue polo shirt, and footwear.
The actress also took a moment to pose for photographs with her colleague Big Little Lies star, Laura Dern, while on the red carpet.
Along with Deacon, Witherspoon is the mother of 24-year-old daughter Ava Phillippe, who she shares with her former partner, Ryan Phillippe. Additionally, she is the mother of 11-year-old Tennessee James Toth, who she shares with her former partner, Jim Toth.
Channing Tatum, Kravitz’s fiancé, portrays an enigmatic tech-mogul magnate in Blink Twice, which will be released in theaters on Friday, Aug. 23.
“When tech billionaire Slater King (Tatum) meets cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackie) at his fundraising gala, sparks fly,” a synopsis explains.
“He invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. It’s paradise. Wild nights blend into sun soaked days and everyone’s having a great time. No one wants this trip to end, but as strange things start to happen, Frida begins to question her reality,” the synopsis continues. “There is something wrong with this place. She’ll have to uncover the truth if she wants to make it out of this party alive.”
Another significant event in January was the 2024 Golden Globes, where Deacon accompanied his renowned mother.
At the Variety Golden Globes pre-show, the mother-son tandem walked the red carpet. Deacon subsequently disclosed in an interview, “This is my first Golden Globes and really my first awards show.”
“I’m following her tonight,” he added after being asked if he had a curfew. “She’s the party animal, and I’m just trying to keep up.”
