The Red Magic 5G seems prepared to take the world by storm with an impressive list of specifications. Gaming smartphones have been increasing in prominence lately, and the Red Magic 5G is simply another example of that.

Nubia Red Magic 5G’s Incredible Display

Nubia is the company behind this beast of a product, and wow does it pack a punch in so many departments. The Nubia Red Magic 5G has a lot to boast about, but its most impressive spec has to be the display.

It sports a 6.65-inch, 1080×2340 AMOLED display that covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space. Now that’s impressive on its own, but then, you come to its absolutely bonkers refresh rate.

Even the latest and greatest smartphones from Samsung and OnePlus have a display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate at most. The Nubia Red Magic 5G leaves them all in the dust with a whopping 144Hz refresh rate display. It’s not just that, either. The phone also features a 240Hz touch sampling rate, putting it on par with the iPad Pro.

Insane Specs In The Nubia Red Magic 5G

Powering this incredible display is an equally beastly set of components. At its heart is a Snapdragon 865 processor, clocked at 2.84GHz per processor. It also has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X55 modem, making it 5G capable, too.

On top of all this, sports an Adreno 650 GPU, a maximum of 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. That’s not all, either. Using these powerful components is sure to cause the phone to heat up. So, Nubia has included a proper cooling system.

Some Useful Gaming Features

To start with, it features an L-shaped cooling chamber that has a copper foil, graphite and thermal paste. The ridiculous part, however, is the presence of a 15,000 rpm fan that can cover 40,000 sq mm of area.

In true gamer-centric fashion, it also features two shoulder buttons that players can map to an on-screen button. There are also nifty features like front-firing stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and docking pins on the side that allow you to connect robust peripherals, such as an ethernet cable.

A hefty 4,500 mAh battery powers this whole setup, and is capable of a whopping 55W fast-charging at most. All of this power comes in at a competitive price, too.

The Nubia Red Magic 5G comes in two variants. The 8GB RAM+128GB storage model comes in at $579/€579/£539, while the 12 GB RAM+256GB storage model costs $649/€649/£599. No word yet on the pricing for the 16GB RAM version, though. It also comes in Eclipse Black or Hot Rod Red colours.
