Red Dead Redemption 2: Red Dead Redemption’s gorgeous open world is littered with some bizarre side characters. Here’s a look at ten of these strange strangers.
The Gunsmith Owner In Rhodes
This seemingly normal merchant has kidnapped a full-grown man and dressed him up as a little boy. The motivation behind him doing this is actually quite sad, but it’s still a disturbing encounter overall.
The Vampire (Red Dead Redemption 2)
Track down the strange writings in Saint-Denis and you’ll see that the locations of the writings form a star when connected together. This points you the town’s church, where you will find someone who bears a striking resemblance to Nosferatu.
The Feral Man
Head to Roanoke Valley to find the Feral Man. If he spots you, though, he will howl and summon a pack of wolves. In his cave near the river, you’ll find a diary that tells his life’s story.
The “Couple” (Red Dead Redemption 2)
Bray and Tammy Aberdeen live in the Scarlett Meadows. The seemingly nice couple invite you to dinner. You’ll soon find out, however, that they’re actually brother and sister and they intend to drug you, rob you and kill you. Wonderful hospitality.
The Inbred Man
If an incestuous couple wasn’t unnerving enough, how about an entire colony? That’s what you’ll find in Butcher’s Creek. One of them, however, is especially nasty to look at. You can find this guy calmly playing the banjo, minding his own business.

The “Devil” (Red Dead Redemption 2)
In a network of hidden caves off to the west of Hanging Dog Ranch is a man living alone. You’ll find him muttering to himself that he wants to be the devil.
The King Of The Forest
If you ever explore the forest north of Annesburg, you may come across this hermit who lives in the trees. He’s a harmless hermit living up in the trees and he claims to be a “king”.
The Night Folk (Red Dead Redemption 2)
The swamps of Bayou Nwa are home to the Night Folk. They’re basically zombies in all but name. They chase after you looking to eat you, making strange noises all the while. Pretty standard stuff for a zombie.
The Braithwaite Girl
Inside a wooden cabin near the Braithwaite mansions, you’ll find a girl who is seemingly left to die. When you peek inside the cabin, you notice that she’s pulled out much of her hair and is counting to herself.
The Time Traveller
While strange in their own ways, the other characters on this list still fit into the realistic world of Red Dead Redemption 2. Francis Sinclair, however, does not. He bears a strange facial birthmark. After you complete the list of tasks he gives you, return to the cabin where you found him. In his place, however, is a woman with a baby, also named Francis, with an identical birthmark on his face.
