Pandemic In US: With NYC As Epicentre, Next Wave Of Infections Expected In Louisiana
Pandemic In US: For the last few months, the coronavirus has made the whole world extremely perturbed. WHO declared it a global pandemic on 16th March. It created a frightful situation in the whole world. The whole world is trying to fight back and praying for quick relief. But people don’t know when they are going to be free from this terror.
As we know, SARS-CoV-2 Is the main reason for COVID-19 sickness. The world found out about this virus in Wuhan, China. Now it’s creating a worse situation than before because it spreads rapidly. Doctors and researchers from across the globe are trying to find out a permanent solution. But this long-term procedure requires time.
As we know, WHO declared Europe as the new epicentre of the outbreak. But we can call New York City is the epicentre in the USA. More than 82,000 people reported positive to the coronavirus in the USA. It surpasses the tally of infections in China and Italy already. The death toll rises to 1200 which made the government more anxious.
Louisiana Is Now The Hotspot Of the Outbreak
While the number of infections is increasing in the USA, experts expected that the next wave of infection will be in Louisiana. New Orleans is the biggest city in the state. According to the medical facilities of NYC, they are facing many problems including shortage of ventilators, protective masks, and medical equipment, etc.
Governor John Bel Edwards stated that New Orleans is going to be out of ventilators by 2nd April because almost 80% of ICU patients are breathing on machines. He also said that by April 7, there will be a shortage of beds also. The healthcare workers are using recycled protective masks. They don’t have essential gear for protecting themselves while taking care of COVID-19 patients. These things will create a hugely problematic situation in New Orleans. The Government needs to resolve it as soon as possible before the pandemic hits the city.
