The March 10 date can be read as MAR10, or “Mario”, an obvious reference to Nintendo’s evergreen mascot. Nintendo themselves see the humour in this and have declared this as Mario Day. As part of the celebration, Nintendo is offering Switch users some killer deals on Mario games.
Rare Deals On Mario Games
Super Mario Maker 2 and Super Mario Party, both of which usually retail for $49.99 have a $10 discount. Both of these titles are available for $39.99 at Walmart, Amazon and Gamestop. Target Mario Day celebrations, which are running from March 8th, 2020 to March 14th, 2020 also have the same deal on these games.
Yoshi’s Crafted World, a spin-off title based on Mario’s cute dinosaur-like companion also enjoys the same discount at the same stores. Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle, usually retailing at $24.99 is available for $14.99 at Best Buy stores.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe are both available at a $5 discount at Amazon and Best Buy. Usually retailing at $49.99, they are now going for $44.99. Target’s Mario Day sale also has a deal on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Instead of a discount on the game itself, they’re offering a Joy-Con Wheel along with it. Super Mario Odyssey also has the same $5 discount, down to $44.99 from $49.99, but is only available at Best Buy.
Discounts On Amiibos and eShop Titles
Amiibos are also getting in on the Mario Day fun. The Wedding Outfit versions of Mario, Peach and Bowser are available for $9.99 instead of $12.99 at Best Buy. There are many other deals, including other Mario titles or controllers at Target, as well as other stores, which you can check out here. The Nintendo eShop also has its own set of discounts on digital downloads.
The Switch’s Incredible Success
The Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular gaming consoles on the market right now. It has sold like hotcakes all over the world and it continues to grow from strength to strength. Part of this success is thanks to its unique form factor. The ability to be able to take it on the go and also plug it into your TV for the usual console experience is extremely appealing.
Another part of this success is the console’s excellent library of games. It launched with The Legend Of Zelda – Breath Of The Wild. This is a game that went on to win Game Of The Year at the 2017 edition of the Game Awards. The Switch has continued this trend of excellent exclusives with titles such as Fire Emblem – Three Houses, Astral Chain and many, many more.
