Surprise, surprise—not it’s a filler opening! The Hero Association confronts Tomura Shigaraki’s men in My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 1. In this assessment, let’s see how that went.
I hope the mountain you’re hiding under has enough room and sunlight for you to live a healthy life if you haven’t at least heard of My Hero Academia. One of the most watched anime shows right now is My Hero Academia, or Boku No Hero Academia if you want to get all formal about it. After what is regarded as the show’s lowest season to date, which you can learn more about here, the show returns to our screens.

You can tell that My Hero Academia is in good company because it is inspired by the manga series with the same title by Kouhei Horikoshi and is made by Studio Bones, which is widely known for producing anime like Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and Mob Psycho. Masahiro Mukai and Kenji Nagasaki are in charge of directing Season 6. The show is also called Boku no Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 1 in the original Japanese language.
My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 1 Wiki Plot
In the past, the only 3 components that could be counted on in life were death, taxes, and the first episode of an upcoming season of My Hero Academia being garbage. Now? Not really. No longer is anything sacred? Have the timelines changed? Should a society be permitted to exist where the first My Hero episode wasn’t a filler at all? I’ll stop with the jokes now, but I must stress what a wise choice this was. Another filler so quickly would have given the series more unfavorable publicity, something that it most certainly cannot afford at this time, given that the previous season ended with the world on the verge of war, virtually pushing this chapter into action right away.
The show would typically introduce all the season’s soon-to-be helpful people in a humorous way, generally involving a school activity. The show, however, has taken on a significantly darker tone this season and was unable to return to its tried-and-true formula. Instead, it developed a tale centered on the same people that were perfectly in line with the one it was attempting to tell. As a result, even if the episode wasn’t entirely official, it didn’t seem that way. Everything in the program is consumed by the tangible menace posed by the Paranormal Liberation Front.
My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 1 was excellent in large part because of the characters, who are the show’s greatest asset. Along with Present Mic and Eraserhead, we received individual moments with Hawks and Twice, two of the show’s most endearing characters. As we witnessed in a really moving chapter from the season prior, they are looking for revenge for the person they lost. This enhances the show’s natural feel, which has always been a strength.

Deku and friends were also integrated into this operation seamlessly, as the might of the combined forces of the Shigaraki and Re-Destro seemed to be too much for just the Heroes. It also provides a way to broaden the similarities between Shigaraki and Izuku, which was also a primary focus of My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 1, and the previous season as a whole. It is going to be interesting to see how that particular story is told, as there are a lot of moving parts.
The previous season came to a close. The last segment of the previous season faced significant production setbacks as a result of COVID and the preoccupation with publishing movies in the middle of their development cycles. That’s not to suggest that it couldn’t happen in this season, but the fact that this episode wasn’t filler and that there appears to be renewed emphasis on the storyline suggests that the program is on the verge of returning. I, for one, am beyond thrilled.
