In an interview with Access Hollywood, Matt described how the team was taken aback by how much he and Jesse looked alike.

He reminded me more of myself than I remembered from my childhood, I thought. My eleven-year-old visage, for example, did not resemble that.
I thought, “This is so strange.” I think he’s a fantastic actor and I adore the decisions and work that he has done. I’m quite proud of the comparison, and he’s amazing to see.
