Lil Baby Arrested in Las Vegas on Allegations of Carrying a Concealed Weapon

After his arrest on Monday, the rapper—real name: Dominique Armani Jones—was accused of carrying a concealed handgun without a permit.

Lil Baby was taken into custody on allegations that He was carrying a concealed handgun in Las Vegas without a permit.

The 29-year-old rapper, whose true name is Dominique Armani Jones, was charged with carrying a concealed firearm without a permit following his arrest on Monday, August 26, according to court papers that were examined.

The altercation that took place in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard about five in the morning resulted in his arrest, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. No other information was provided.

He posted bond after being taken into the Clark County Detention Center, according to court documents. His next court date is October 1.

Lil Baby’s attorneys, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, jointly stated in a statement to The Los Angeles Times that their client had “a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit.”

“On his behalf we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas,” their statement added.

Georgia concealed weapons permits are not accepted in Nevada, citing the website of the Georgia Attorney General.

“Georgia weapons license holders should familiarize themselves with the individual requirements and limitations on Georgia weapons licenses in any of the states where they may wish to exercise their rights,” the website advises. “Weapons laws vary from state to state and there may be municipal or county ordinances regulating weapons in other states.”

Billboard claims that Lil Baby was previously in legal hot water in 2021 when he was arrested for allegedly “transporting drugs” while attending Paris Fashion Week in France. According to the publication, in February 2019, he was also taken into custody for reckless driving in Atlanta.

Lil Baby released his last album, It’s Only Me, in 2022. He’s actively been teasing his follow-up project on social media, with his last Instagram post before his arrest stating, “Album 80% Done ….. #sorry4thewait.”
