It’s an interesting turn of events for the 37-year-old, about to start his 20th season in the NBA.
James has been mostly healthy during his time in the NBA, but he has been out of the lineup more in the last few years than in the past. James hurt his ankle in 2020-21, which kept him from playing more than 45 games. When he returned, he didn’t seem to be at full strength.
James was great for Los Angeles last season, even though the team did not make the playoffs. The four-time winner averaged 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game while shooting 52.4 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from beyond the arc.
During the 2021-22 season, he came close to scoring the most points in the league, but he only played in 56 games because he was sick and had an abdominal injury early in the season.
James has never played in more than 67 games in a regular season since he joined the Lakers. However, he did play in 67 games in 2019-20 because the season was cut short because of COVID-19.
James’s changes to his diet might help him on the floor and in the future as he tries to stay in great shape. He seems determined to make a change in his life that will inspire other people to do the same.
If the Lakers want to get back to the playoffs and possibly compete for an NBA title in 2022-23, James will have to be healthy.
