Jyoti Kisanji Amge, who currently holds the Guinness World Record for the shortest-living woman, recently turned 29 on December 16, 2022. She was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra, and measures only 61.95 cm or two feet in height, which confirms her as the shortest-living teenage female. In 2009, she gained global attention after appearing on Fuji TV’s Bikkuri Chojin 100 Special No 2.
According to the Guinness World Records, she was measured by an orthopedic consultant named Dr. Manoj Pahukar at the Wockhardt Superspeciality Hospital in Nagpur, and GWR adjudicator Rob Molloy was present to oversee the process. At the time of measurement, she weighed only 5.4 kg, which was just 4 kg more than her birth weight.

Jyoti Kisanji Amge was honored by the Guinness World Record as claiming that setting the record for the shortest-living teenager (female) helped her feel better about herself in 2011, after formally acquiring the title. She had a sense of being valued, unique, and popular. According to her mother, Ranjana, she was of average height until five years.

“It subsequently emerged that she has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia, and will never grow beyond a certain height,” stated Guinness World Records. The genetic disorder is classified as an abnormality in the growth of bones that obstructs the transformation of cartilage into bone, specifically in the limbs.
This condition of dwarfism is also characterized by restricted movement in the elbows, an oversized head, small fingers, and normal cognitive abilities, according to the Genetic and Rare Diseases Information Center.

In the year 2012, the person affected by this condition encountered Chandra Bahadur Dangi of Nepal, who holds the title of being the shortest man in the world. The two individuals were photographed together for the 57th volume of the Guinness World Records.
