Younger sister of Christopher Craine, wrote the memoir The Wild Truth which described the trauma that she and her brother had to put up through as kids and it ultimately motivated Chris to choose the path of wilderness.
Before going to the next chapter of his life, Chris had reportedly donated his entire education fund to Oxfam and destroyed all his identity cards to begin from fresh. This man hiked from north America and Alaska before finally finding the place to call home in Alaskan bushes.
In September, his body was found decomposed in the same bus with starvation being the cause of death. Now this converted bus which is known as The Magic Bus is a well known destination and a tourist place for many rising hikers.

In April 1992, Christopher McCandless arrives in a remote area named Healy which is just north of Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska. By watching his unpreparedness, his driver gave him gumboots.

Rotten tomatoes, the review aggregator reports that 83% of 200 reviews of the movie were positive with an average rating of 7.5 out of 10. The website given a statement for the movie as –
“With his sturdy cast and confident direction, Sean Penn has turned a complex work of nonfiction like Into the Wild into an accessible and poignant character study.”
Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave the film four stars out of four and described it as “spellbinding”. Ebert wrote that Emile Hirsch gives a “hypnotic performance”, commenting: “It is great acting, and more than acting.” Ebert added, “The movie is so good partly because it means so much, I think, to its writer-director, Sean Penn.”
Metacritic assigned the film an average score of 73 out of 100 based on 38 critics, indicating “generally favorable reviews”.
