Indiana Jones 5: Who Is Replacing Steven Spielberg?
Steven Spielberg has reportedly stepped down from the director’s chair. Spielberg is one of the pioneers of the New Hollywood era and the most famous director and producer in the movie history. He directed all the four Indiana Jones film in the franchise.
For fans who want to see Indiana Jones from the iconic duo Henry Ford and Steven Spielberg, it’s unfortunately not happening. But not to worry. According to reports, he’ll still be a part of the movie. Instead of the director, he’ll be attached to the film as a producer.
Spielberg wants to leave the franchise for the younger generation directors and let them take over it. There is no official news as to who the new director will be. But there are some talks that it is James Mangold who’ll take over the movie. However, he has not been signed officially as of now. But we hope Mangold will give a fresh start to the franchise.

What Are The Filming Updates?
The talks and plans for the movie have been in development since Lucasfilm announced it in 2016. Since then the film has gone through so many ups and downs. Spielberg was supposed to start filming back in 2019 in April. But then that got shifted. And now with directors changing we do not know a release next year is plausible or not.
Ford says that the team is having issues related to schedule and scripts.
This is what Ford had to say. “I don’t want to give the audience what they want to see. Instead, I want to give them something they didn’t anticipate. They are used to a certain degree of disappointment when you revisit. Surely, the Marvel movies have made a magnificent example of a success that worked the other way around. They killed it! Well, we’re not going to make another Indiana Jones unless we are ready to kill it. We want it to be the best. We want it perfect. We’ve got some scheduling issues, and a few script things left. But we are determined to get it right before we start making the film”.
Whatever it is, we hope everything gets fixed real soon. Ford himself talked about the movie recently. He said everything’s finally coming together and they’d start filming somewhere in 2020.
