After the third season of “Claim to Fame” concluded, Hud and Mackenzie spoke about their relationship’s status.
Despite not being able to claim their fame, Hud and Mackenzie owe their budding romance to the show.
After a harrowing challenge that left Adam to the ER earlier in the show, Mackenzie and Hud found themselves in the hot seat, intensifying the guess-off.
Adam was in control after winning the last challenge. He chose to guess himself as the guesser and identified Hud’s father as John Mellencamp and Mackenzie’s father as Trace Adkins.
Adam was declared the winner of Claim to Fame for season three as a consequence, and he later disclosed that his uncle Michael Bolton was also a famous person.
Despite Hud and Mackenzie’s admission that they had wanted for different outcomes, Hud says he was glad to be alongside Adam in the final two after spending the entire season working with him.
“I can only be happy for him,” he says. “He went through so much just getting hurt that day. That’s a nightmare situation to get taken out of the game if you’re getting hurt, so there was a moment there where we thought he was going home just for putting in time the effort and to get hurt like that stinks. It’s the worst way to go out. So I’m very happy for him, but at the same time I wanted to win also.”
Mackenzie adds that she felt very accomplished going into the guess-off, especially knowing she followed her father’s advice. “My dad told me before I left, just be on all the episodes,” he quips. “I played a good game.”
In addition to the pandemonium of Adam’s injury and the final guess-off, the season finale also featured a montage set to the song “The Girl Next Door” by season 1 runner-up Logan Crosby, in which Mackenzie and Hud showcased their provocative relationship.
Although Mackenzie hinted that their courtship was “all for the game,” she joked that it could potentially evolve after the program concluded.
Therefore, what is the current status of their relationship? Despite the fact that Mackenzie and Hud maintain a low profile regarding their official relationship status, they have acknowledged that they have encountered each other on numerous occasions since the conclusion of filming.
“We’re just hanging out, seeing what happens,” Hud teases. “He visited me a few times in Nashville,” Mackenzie adds. “I visited him. Yeah, going well.”
Mackenzie has found it to be an extraordinary experience to establish connections with Hud and her fellow castmates, as they share comparable life experiences. “That was one of the one things I was so excited about going into it because I was like, these people will just get me,” she says. “Especially Hud, because both of us, it’s our dad, and they’re both musicians. It’s just very similar. It’s been amazing, so much fun getting to know everyone.”
The Claim to Fame family, which includes season 3 contestants and stars from previous seasons, will also be together at the watch party, in addition to bringing their families together.
“It’s going to be so much fun,” Mackenzie says. “I’m excited. A lot of them haven’t been to Nashville, so I’ll give up a full Nashville experience.”
Hud is providing the refreshments with his new Mellencamp Whiskey while Mackenzie is hosting. “I’ve got my whiskey coming out next month or so, so I’ve got my unreleased whiskey I’m bringing,” he adds. “All our drinks should be made with it. It’s going to be fun.”
Season 3 of Claim to Fame is accessible via Hulu.
