How Not To Summon A Demon Lord Season 1: Synopsis
Season 1 of the anime is strictly in line with the novels as it takes us on a journey to the unreal virtual game world known by the name Cross Reverie. This mystical world is ruled by Diablo, the regal Demon King. But that is not what is actually going on behind the scenes.
The world is actually controlled by gamer and keyboard warrior Takuma Sakamoto. But Takuma is just another lowlife with no social life. Also, He is a nerdy video game geek whose real life just falls flat in comparison to the persona he has created for himself in his virtual world, where he is an omnipotent figure with control of everything. It provides him a sense of pride. In a fantastic turn of events, reality and virtual reality start colliding. A summoning spell occurs that swaps his actual reality for Diablo’s omnipotent powers and the boundaries between the video game world and real life start to break down.
