According to the Egmont Group’s 2014 SpongeBob SquarePants Annual book, Sandy’s birthday is on November 17. She was born in Houston, Texas, alongside Randy Cheeks, to Ma and Pa Cheeks. Sandy attended Master Kim’s Karate Camp as a child where she learnt karate. The mother of Sandy once advised her to “karate them with gentleness.”
Although she and SpongeBob initially met in “Tea at the Treedome” as adults, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run and Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years reveal that they also met as youngsters at Camp Coral. The episode “Kitchen Sponge” provided an explanation for this contradiction.
Sandra Jennifer “Sandy” Cheeks is a fictitious character in the Nickelodeon programme SpongeBob SquarePants. She is an anthropomorphic squirrel who lives underwater and wears a diving gear. Sandy is voiced by Carolyn Lawrence and first featured in the May 1, 1999 episode “Tea at the Treedome.” The show’s creator, marine researcher and animator Stephen Hillenburg, conceived and designed Sandy.
The reception of the character among fans has been favourable. Sandy has been featured in numerous SpongeBob SquarePants books, toys, and other goods. She appears in all three films, with a brief appearance in the first film and larger parts in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water and its sequel.
Description of Her Character
Sandy is a native of Texas, as revealed in the episode of the same name, and embodies many cowgirl qualities. She talks with a strong Southern accent and employs traditional Southern vernacular, such as “Howdy” and “Y’all.”
Sandy is highly proud of her hometown and its culture, as evidenced by the episode “Texas,” in which she considers leaving Bikini Bottom to return to Texas due to homesickness. In the same episode, she takes exception to SpongeBob and Patrick’s disrespectful remarks about Texas and attacks them brutally when they continue to make fun of the state.
Intelligency of Sandy
Sandy is, along with Plankton and Karen, one of the most intelligent and balanced characters on the show. She is a multitalented scientist and innovator who came to Bikini Bottom to explore the marine life and lifestyles. In “Chimpanzees Ahoy,” it is revealed that she is employed by Professor Percy, Dr. Marmalade, and Lord Reginald, three chimpanzees from the surface.

As an inventor, Sandy is able to create highly sophisticated machines with ease. Her creations include a manned spaceship, a teleporter, a submarine that can shrink to microscopic size and enter a person’s body, a robot in “What Ever Happened to SpongeBob?”, and a Protogenerator 2000 cloning device as seen in “Overbooked.”
Physique of Sandy
Sandy is also physically fit and sporty. She and SpongeBob share a passion for Karate and frequently engage in playful duels. As they mostly fight with chops and kicks in a cartoon-like style, their Karate appears to be stylised to match that of “Play Karate.”
There appear to be further combat methods in the series, most notably in “Karate Island,” when three other fish exhibit fighting techniques that resemble stylised versions of kung fu rather than karate.
Personality of Sandy
As demonstrated in many newer episodes, such as “Lost in Bikini Bottom,” Sandy is typically nice and compassionate toward SpongeBob and is known for assisting him when he feels lost. In prior episodes, she is shown to be significantly crazier.
In “Prehibernation Week,” she compels SpongeBob to participate in risky games, which causes him to flee. She then causes all Bikini Bottom residents to seek for SpongeBob ceaselessly for days, until they all run and hide from her just as SpongeBob did. In “To Save a Squirrel,” she almost forces SpongeBob and Patrick to devour each other in order to test their ability to survive in the wild.
Sandy’s Demise and Responses
Sandy was discovered unresponsive on July 15, 2017, less than three weeks into the Vans Warped Tour and days after the band’s performance at the XFINITY Center.
The band manager dialled 911 at 11:22 a.m. PST, out of increased concern about her non-appearance at rehearsals, and paramedics arrived three minutes later. Cheeks was not breathing, so CPR was administered; she was then transported to Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, where she was deeply sedated and placed on life support. Two hours later, at 2:26 pm, Sandy was pronounced dead in the intensive care unit.
Her death soon circulated online, forcing websites to slow down and crash due to user overload and placing unprecedented demand on services and websites such as Google.
Spongebob Squarepants’s Demise
In August of 2020, three years later, emergency personnel were dispatched to the Masaya Medellin hotel in Medelln, Antioquia, Colombia, where it was claimed that SquarePants was found unresponsive.
He missed his scheduled checkout time, and his family became concerned when they were unable to reach him. SquarePants, aged 48, was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency personnel. There was no cause of death listed.
Reason for Death
Cocaine poisoning, alcohol in excess of the deadly dose, and a large amount of heroin were revealed by the autopsy. By overdose, Sandy had committed suicide. There have been fifteen instances of suicide imitators.
